I hope that the prices are fair...something about opening them spam cans is a lot of fun, like a cutter top tobacco tin I reckon. Sounds good, but I don't need anything they have.

I probably do not need it either but if the price is right…. ZI have some lonely ammo cans that need to have full belly’s.

I might could tumble for some carbine fodder. That would be the real deal,if the price was right. You can go through a hundred dollars worth in no time.

The carbine is useless for much of anything but plinking with mil FMJ but I reload for mine with JHP and it’s a capable little walking-around rifle.

I assume that since you live in a neighborhood your carbine is loaded with expanding bullets and not FMJ.

I have never shot any .22 self defense rounds, but I read the positive reviews of punch and Winchester silver tips. A lot cheaper to shoot, and thereby it would be a lot easier to get a lot more range time on close quarter drills. That Keltec looks like a great option.

I often carry a NAA 22 mag as I'm not expecting trouble but it doesn't take up any pocket room. I have a laser on it and I can hit a can at 50 feet.

That Keltec weighs less that 4# and collapses. Gold Dots are available in special 22Mag self-defense ammo. I have been impressed with 22Mags lately. I sometimes tote a Keltec PMR30 pistol. 30 rounds out of a handgun that weighs less than 20 ounces is quite a comfy option.

The last time I bought ammo from the CMP was when they had the Greek M2Ball, I bought 4 crates, it was 30 cents per round, and I thought it was expensive. I quickly realized at the next gun show that I went to when I saw the same stampings on the crates were being resold for quite a bit more.
After that a lot of people that lacked the buying power of them individuals complained on the cmp forum about it, and wanted limits put on others. The director chipped in, saying that they were there to sell ammo not warehouse it indefinitely. It will be interesting to see what the pricing is, I think it has been a long time since that had received anywhere this amount in recent years.
I couldn’t imagine filling ammo orders all day, them workers must ache a lot at the end of the day.
When I went to the FedEx Ground hub to pick up my 4 crates, the weenie behind the counter made it clear that he did not approve of my ability to receive my order.

I've got plenty right now. And in some ways, I've got too much. I just loaded about a third of my ammo (and other stuff) in my car for the drive to my new home in Florida. Had to take some of it back out. Too much weight. The car was noticeably squating too low in the rear. Quess it's going to have to be moved in about 3 or 4 trips over the next several months.

Not a bad problem. PM me if you want a possibly cheaper option to move the ammo.

Yeah, I didn't have nearly that much to move, but the weight does add up fast. Multiple trips is the way to do it. No sense trying to do too much at once.

I had 4 boxes of ammo that I had to move with the hand truck. Luckily, the trailer has a ramp.

My views on the right home defense weapon have varied over the years. For many decades it was my Winchester Model 1897. Then a Ruger Mini-14. Recently, I have settled on this Browning variant. I hope my permit application goes through!

Back to the M1 Carbine.
In the early 1970s I worked for a recently retired SFPD officer. When the shite hit the fan with civil unrest in the mid 1960s he brought his own M1 Carbine to work in the trunk of his squad car. he said many of his fellow officers did the same with Garands, Carbines and even Johnson rifles. I knew an officer in Larkspur, CA who carried his own Johnson rifle. He already traded in his S&W Model 15 for a Browning Hi Power.

Peckinpah used the wrong gun in The WB. The movie takes place in 1916 and that’s a 1917.

Peckinpah used the wrong gun in The WB. The movie takes place in 1916 and that’s a 1917. The Wild Bunch Fans page on Facebook has howled about that for years. Should have been a Maxim or a Colt or Chaucault or a Lewis.
