Good Morning! It's right at 50° here and damp with a cloudy sky. Nothing much going on today so I'll check the listings for a ball game to watch. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of Wessex Brigade Campaign VA Flake in the Peterson Irish Harp 999 and there's a fresh mugga coffee on the tobacco table.

Good Morning Again, Gentlemen! It's a milder 54°, cloudy, and with intermittent rain showers through the day here. Finishing my time in the backyard workshop with a bowl of Limerick VA Flake that I've been slowly drawing at and there's still some coffee left in the mug.

Middleton's Cherry Blend in a Gasperini Dublin, coffee on the side. Is that the vintage Middleton’s Cherry you got a little while back? If so, any new thoughts on it now that you’re at least a few bowls into it?

2017 John Patton Storm Front in an RDPipes Morta with Cumberland stem That's a drool-worthy pipe right there! How does it smoke? Ron turned some beautiful Morta pipes, quite an accomplishment as the carver does not have the benefit of riding great grain.

Middleton's Cherry Blend in a Gasperini Dublin, coffee on the side. Is that the vintage Middleton’s Cherry you got a little while back? If so, any new thoughts on it now that you’re at least a few bowls into it? It is indeed, from that same pouch, and when I called my friend to thank her, I was told there's more to be had. I'll smoke this, and enjoy it, but one blast from the past is enough...but I may call her back to ask about Apple, from the same maker. The burley notes are as I said, much like the old Apple blend, and the cherry flavor seems a mite faded, with time, and more of a bark than fruit flavor, no harsh edges, or bite. Perhaps this is from the passage time, perhaps because I'm a more seasoned smoker, or at least a slower smoker.
