McClelland's Christmas Cheer 07, in a stub of a Hickok billiard. only the word Hick remains, as a half inch of the shank was at some point cut away, and a mortice redrilled. when I received this one in a huge lot of estates, my first thought was to trash it; I'm glad I didn't, it's a fine smoker...just not much to look at.

Fresh GH & Co. Bright CR Flake in a Hyperbole Falcon.
This is definition, pure VA flake. I'm not sure what some of the reviewers are smoking or talking about when some mention this has some "Lakeland" hints, essence, or even the whackos that actually tried to call this "Ennerdale Light," but coming from an experienced Gawith smoker, this flake has absolutely ZERO Lakeland anything in it. It's purely unadulterated bright Carolina leaf and it's phenomenal. Compare it to an unpressed and un-heat treated version of Full Virginia Flake. There's no other better Virginia flake on the market. Also considering things like "HH Pure VA" are full of vanilla and sugar and garbage.

Smoked some Pegasus in the Friday cob while watching some TV with my wife. Had a nice text chat about Peterson pipes, then shoveled some wet, heavy snow. Spent a little time in the workshop on a Dr. Grabow restoration. Now, I'm having some more Capstan Blue in a Paul's Cayuga freehand.  |

I thought you might like it. I can't imagine smoking it myself. It's just too pretty. To my eye, it's the most perfect tobacco pipe I've ever seen.
