2015 SH Syrian Limited in my Jess Chonowitsch long oval shank Brandy. Real nice grain on that one John! Hope she smokes as good as she looks! Thanks! It smokes even better than it looks. Fantastic easy airflow. Simple to smolder and sip for maximum flavor. Worth every penny that it cost.

Symphony, and my Morning Fog mix, in the Prince of Wales briar calabash. A bit of dumb luck here, as the Morning Fog is a real stewpot mix of leftovers after a day of tobacco jarring. I had worked my way through two shipments from heabar, jarring and labeling, until only bits and scraps were left. I tossed it all into a mixing bowl, gave it a shake, and covered it. Returning the next day, in a " morning fog " I jarred it in three 1/2 pt jars...until the addition of the MB Symphony, taste tests have been far from Steller. Symphony seems to be the ticket to turn this sow's ear into something akin to a silk purse.

Popped a 2020 tin of C&D Opening Night, which I got from Silver in a trade a couple years back. Just finishing my first bowl in my RDP strawberry briar blasted slight bent bulldog with midnight blue ebonite stem. A very tasty red and bright VA soft, broken flake. Needs a few more days to open up and breathe in the tin. Was a nice sour fermentation smell going on initially upon opening. Opening Night is one of my favorite post-McC Virginias but needs at least a year in the tin. At a year, I find it rather similar to Union Square but with more age, the two start differing more. Really tasty stuff, but kinda under the radar. I suggest trying Interlude for a red Va, but, again, age it at least a year. I've not tried Interlude flake yet, but speaking of, I need to dig out my opened jar of Union Square. The Opening Night was similar but as I recall, the Union Square is much sweeter/richer/darker and somewhat more overall satisfying due to the heavy heat pressing treatment that they give it.
We're getting so close to the NASPC show now!
Whoops, it's August. I'll just copy/paste this over there.
