Revisiting another home blend, this one's a little more Oriental-forward. Using another self-made billiard for this smoke.

Good Morning! It's 69°, very humid, and cloudy here at first light. This afternoon I have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon and the usual chores to do. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Stanwell Silver Mount and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table. Enjoy the day, everybody!

It sounds as if your OEM knee is well worn from a lifetime of use and I know the pain can be very hard to tolerate. My best wishes to you as you go through the procedures and keep us posted on the progress.

Happy Friday. Three Sails in a modded Twain. It was the lightest thing I could lay hands on this hot morning. Iced green tea with.
I've been playing with mushrooms this year. I've white oysters on the reg and my first chestnuts should be fruiting any day. Pioppinos are in the pipeline, happily colonizing some grain. Yummy yummy yummy.

Happy Friday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Friday cob and coffee on the front porch. It's cooler and less humid here than the past few days. No rain in the forecast until tomorrow. Time to tend the garden.

Thanks for your thoughts, Russ, I had the left knee done in 09 or 10, and joined the old pipes.org pipe forum as I recovered; that's where the username goldbrick came from, as I spent so much time sitting on my butt. Now the right knee is making demands on me, but I can't fix it until the A1C get right and the sores on my lower leg heal...no fun in Mudville.

Watching the honey bees in the lavender while enjoying some Newminster Superior Navy Flake from a few days ago and a bit of cafe au lait. SNF has quickly become a favorite for me. If Newminster made Inferior Navy Flake I'd definitely try that too Happy Friday everyone!

Good Evening! It's 82° with bright sunshine and passing clouds out here on the deck. Today we finally have a day with low enough humidity to make it comfortable to sit outside, have a pipe, and read for a while. Everything went well at my orthopedic surgeon's appointment. The x-rays show the joint to be stable and he cleared me to drive. Good, good. Currently smoking a bowl of fresh Limerick VA Flake in the MM General cobwarden and there's a plastic mugga cold water on the side. Have a great night, everybody!

With usual Coke, Wilke #622 in LaughingBacchus meer. Much of day dealing with gibberish speaking people on phone. No, hearing aids DO control volume of sounds but not control the way these people pronounce the words. Was told that cell phone users only...have it even worse. No way give up landline. Basic cell phone for emergencies (in-house power faiure for example).
80, good air quality now, low on the humidity level

Good HOT afternoon ladies and gents. 96º in the southland today under a black sky at the moment. Had to run to the parts store to get new wipers to go with the new windshield gifted me by a friend, but, made it back before the rain will begin. Wanting the glue to set up a wee bit better before subjecting it to torrential rains. The installer said to wait 48 hrs before hitting the car wash, but, had to call and ask about the torrential rains we get here in Bama. Got the all clear and good to go! Stay cool fellow pipers, stay cool... Celebrating with a bowl of 1888 Vilager Mid Day in a Candace Sprinkle ModCob...

The Chapstick is a tip I got from William, it's really the elbow grease used to remove the Chapstick that takes some of the yellowing off and leaves a slight luster...on pipes with less of a problem chapstick is just something extra to do after a smoke, like running s pipe cleaner through the stem. I've hidden the little fellow away again, but when I get some oxyclean I'll dig him out and have a go at it. I've found that burning the oxidation off with an alcohol lamp really improves stems that oxidize too easily. I don't know why, but stems that have been flamed don't oxidize nearly as much. Interesting approach Ron... I'll file it away because I have had one or two stems that gave me the raspberries right after they were cleaned... Thanks!
