Must have been a chase! Lol Need to name the cat "RoadRunner" I'm jonesing for the Strang. Enjoy it while you still have it, cuz when it's gone...

Doing my typical snacking across the Solanum genus around the garden and yard. This year, after avoiding it as poisonous like its cousins, I've added in Black Nightshade. I think I assumed from older literature that European and American Black Nightshade berries were poisonous and full of the same tropane alkaloids as the Bittersweet Nightshade that grows all over here. Nope. As it turns out, Black Nightshade only contains solanine, as do potatoes and tomatoes when green. Once the berries are ripe, they're good to eat and basically taste like a very sweet tomato with a hint of a dark berry flavor. Had some tomatoes, green tomatillos, golden ground cherries, and black nightshade berries. Missing hot peppers, and haven't dug up the potatoes yet, so let's round it out with the tobacco!

Had a bowl of Silver Strike in the Wednesday cob a little earlier. Now, it's after-dinner smoke time. Haunted Bookshop in the same pipe.

Royal Yacht in a GBD Midnight. Rain this afternoon, more this evening. Should be ending soon, feels tropical out there. Probably about 2 1/2 inches of rain today.

Good Morning! It's 67° here and raining. Later on I have a routine video conference with my primary healthcare provider from the veterans clinic in Canton and I may have to go to the supermarket this afternoon. My tobacco order should be delivered today, too. The smoking day has started with a bowl of fresh HH Pure VA Flake in the 1951 Dunhill Lovat and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 69° here, very humid, and there's a break in the rain for a while. I smoked through my tobacco day jar rotation and finished up with a bowl of the standard HH Pure VA flake. Because of the weather, I don't think that I'll be having a pipe on the deck.

A miscellaneous burley/VA blend I jarred up probably 7-8 years ago. Good morning smoke sitting and looking over the lake. Enjoying it in the cob that someone here once said looked phallic. Thus it is always the “smoking phallus”. Using one of my favorite rustic tampers.

Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Thursday cob and coffee in the cave. We got about 3 inches of rain yesterday and overnight. More on the way today. Our heat index will be around 100 today, I'll be staying inside. I was out earlier to pick vegetables from the garden, low areas have standing water and everything's saturated. No need to drag the hose around today.

Sierra Vista was beautiful last night, the hotel upgraded me to the nicest unit on the property, a large suite with a balcony perfect for smoking a bowl.
Unfortunately, I forgot to pack my pipe bag…. That sucks!

Buster made it to the Vet, then I got the car, and pick-up inspected. While we were gone my contractor's grandson came and removed all the shrubs from in front of our house...somewhere, down a long, long tunnel, I can see the new porch...I hope it's finished before the first snowfall!
