Good Morning and Welcome to August! It's 58° and humid with a cloudy sky here at first light. This afternoon I really, really have to get down to the basement, put away tools, accumulated stuff, and spend some time at the hobby bench. Getting the smoking day going with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Savinelli Venere 128 rusticated billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Good smokes to all!

Mornin' ... I think? It's already getting light later each day and, soon, I'll be riding to work in the dark again. Coffee is flowing, as usual, and I'm smoking D&R Two Timer in an MM Diplomat. Have a good one all!

I'm starting this brand-new month with a mix of MacBaren Symphony and my own Morning fog. The natural tobacco notes of both seem to play well together, and the MacBaren dampens the sweetness of my home blend. I'm halfway through my first coffee, and looking forward to lovely day; I hope you enjoy yours.

Good Morning Again! It's 68° with a cloudy sky and hazy sunshine out here on the deck. The air quality is poor right now because of the Canadian wildfire smoke drifting across Lake Erie. I can smell some foulness, too, from time to time. I have my book with me, a second travel mugga coffee, and am smoking more HH Pure VA Flake in the Sav rusticated billiard. Quiet and relaxing part of the day.

Good morning and Happy August! Started the month with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Tuesday cob and coffee on the front porch. 71 with clouds and hazy sunshine here. The occasional whiff of wildfire smoke is in the air. Yard and garden work is on the agenda.

At a year, I find it rather similar to Union Square but with more age, the two start differing more. Really tasty stuff, but kinda under the radar. I suggest trying Interlude for a red Va, but, again, age it at least a year. I've not tried Interlude flake yet, but speaking of, I need to dig out my opened jar of Union Square. The Opening Night was similar but as I recall, the Union Square is much sweeter/richer/darker and somewhat more overall satisfying due to the heavy heat pressing treatment that they give it. We're getting so close to the NASPC show now!
In fact, I'm going to dig out that Union Square that's jarred now to smoke some of that. In the same RDP bulldog.

Seattle Pipe Club's Plum Pudding Reserve. I use a pastry scraper - you know with the rolled over edge for a handle. I use it as a platform for rubbing out the tobacco, which I can just shake down to the rolled edge and let fall into my pipe.
I think Plum Pudding, and especially Reserve, is a major under appreciated tobacco. It is often as good as Penzance or other Esoterica Tobacciana brand, but much less expensive and just about always available.

Good Evening! It's a cool 67° with a hazy sky out here on the deck at dusk. The wildfire smoke blowing across from Canada today had such an acrid smell that it made me a bit nauseated. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Currently relaxing with a bowl of Peterson Flake in the Sav rusticated billiard. Have a great night, everybody!

Good Morning! It's 58° with a mostly clear sky here just before first light and the full moon has an orange color because of the Canadian wildfire smoke. This afternoon I have to make a supermarket run and then spend some more time at the hobby bench. Starting off the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Stanwell 29 billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good, safe one, everybody!

Symphony/Morning Fog mix in a Savinelli 804, with hot coffee on the side. Temps in the low seventies around here today, and the humidity has been swept away. If my back and legs allow, I might get the front yard cut and edged, plus a little clean-up in the lower forty.

Good Morning Again! It's 68° with a hazy sky out here on the deck. The Canadian wildfire haze is carrying a pungent smell and the air quality is poor in our region of NE Ohio. But, at least, the neighborhood is quiet and I fed our visiting cat Timmy earlier. He's always on the go making his rounds and hunting, so I'm not surprised that he wants to eat when he stops by after being fed by his humans across the street. Just finished a bowl of Bayou Morning Flake in the Mark Twain cob and next up is more HH Pure VA Flake with a second travel mugga coffee along with my book on the side.

Good morning, all. Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob and coffee on the front porch. Mid 70s with hazy sunshine and a gentle breeze here. Gonna be working in the yard today, but I don't feel all that ambitious at the moment. I'll just start slow and see where it goes.

Taking a break from weeding the garden boxes, trimming a shrub, thinning out the lettuce, planting basil from cuttings and picking some peppers. I had some Friar's Bayou in the Wednesday cob while doing that. Now, some Silver Strike home blend in the same cob with a mugga cold water. The next batch of this blend will get a little more perique.

2021 Watch City Old Dominion Flake in an Old Dominion Richmond reed stemmed cob. I hadn’t realized I went for Old Dominion in an Old Dominion until I just types that out. Only a pinch of a bowl left of this blend.
