Not one for ever smoking cigarettes, looked up on the bookshelf tonight and saw some produced by Mark Ryan of Daughters and Ryan...he was selling them for $1 a pack at the West Coast pipe show (2017?), and I bought some going out the door...wish I had bought more...a great smoke. Cellophane wrapped, I suppose that I should vac seal them. Awesome! I've not seen those before. 😎 I Reckon that a few packs need to head north then... opportunities arise when you attend a pipe show. Mark is about as a cool cat as can be, I need to reach out and give him a shout.

Just came in from a scorpion hunt and several are no longer amongst us. I had an MM Country Gent stuffed with D&R Two Timer to fuel my search.

I bet those picayunes put hair on your chest . Due to the thinness of the cigs not as much as a bowl of tobacco...they are a nice kick on the run though. I can kick myself for not cleaning Ryan out....at the end of that pipe show he was boxing up what did not sell to ship back to his hacienda...I know that I could have made a smoking deal to offset the shipping costs, but my crystal ball was broken. Remind me when you come to the next pipe club meeting.

Mark was/is a master of navigating the regulations while still being in compliance, I am sure that played a role.
Some in our community ranted that he caused damage by producing a lot of tobaccos as bulk pipe tobacco that allowed roll your own people to skirt the law.
I take the position that regulation was on a trajectory, and if it had not been him, it would have been someone else.

I don't know when I'll be able to get up to a meeting hopefully December as I already have plans for that weekends in October and November.

Instead, I'll console myself with a bit of well-aged Stonehaven in a big old group 6 Dunhill Shell Canadian.

Just one thin flake. It only filled a little more than half the bowl. A gift from @gypo. Absolutely glorious stuff. The pipe deserves something nice.

Cookie and Loukoumi it's ''on the house". That's a fine looking pipe, Sid.
Thank you sir, it's a Ferretti Meerschaum Lined modified by me.
Note the black clouds, look like ink in water like a movie effect.

Good Morning! It's 47° here with a cloudy sky. I received a reminder in the mail from the motor vehicles dept. that my driver's license had expired on my birthday last month, so this afternoon I'll get it renewed. I also have to make a supermarket run to pick up some stuff that BJ'S didn't have when I went yesterday. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Peterson Rosslare smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one, everybody!

Mornin' ... 55F and clear skies here. I'm enjoying some Savinelli Doblone d'Oro in a 1986 Peterson Mark Twain with black coffee to drink. Local coyotes are yipping like crazy and the roosters seem hesitant to "speak up". Lol Have a great day everyone!

Mark is about as a cool cat as can be, I need to reach out and give him a shout. Mark had the last of the Picayune cigarettes at NASPC last month. They aren’t making them any longer. I’m just finishing a bowl of 2021 GH & Co. Best Brown Flake #2 in a Kaywoodie Saxon sandblasted panel billiard. Next up is 2020 C&D Opening Night flake in an MMC Elite Cadel reverse calabash cob.
