Out and about for a bit. Friar's Bayou and the Wednesday cob for company. I'll have another on the front porch.

I have been revisiting pipe smoking the past few weeks after about a four year hiatus. Found a nice chunk of Samuel Gawith RB Plug that I bought back in 2016. I forgot how much of a pain it is to slice some of those plugs, but I guess that’s part of the experience. It’s a lovely smoke. The smell in the jar reminds my of cinnamon raisin bread. Cheers!

Good Morning! It's already 71°, cloudy, and very humid here before first light. Later on I have to call the Dept. of Veterans Affairs concerning the passing of my older brother in July, so I'll need to be prepared for a long hold time followed by frustrating procedural instructions. Getting started with a bowl of Peterson Flake in the Stanwell Silver Mount blasted billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

Having the last bowl of my Lion and Lamb mixture this morning, in my Tom Spanu apple. The Quart jar that was it's home for the last decade, has been washed and refilled with S.W.R.A. Coffee on the side...bills and pills in the near future.

Good Late Morning! It's 75° here with a mostly cloudy sky and very humid. Back in the workshop and listening to streaming jazz while catching up on the headline news. Finishing a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Stanwell blasted billiard and there's some coffee left in the mug. Almost time to head inside for brunch.

Happy Thursday, all! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Thursday cob and coffee on the front porch. Low 70s, overcast and humid with a chance of showers here. Gonna putter in the yard, pick vegetables and generally goof off.

Friar's Bayou in the Thursday cob. Picked today's haul of vegetables. I'm gonna be processing tomatoes tomorrow. Also picked three fat eggplants. Eggplant Parmesan will be on the dinner table tomorrow.

A cool 81º F outside on its way to 87º. The area is still trying to pick up the remains of the storm that came through three weeks ago. I think that the climate police will have a problem when they start burning it all to get rid of it since the normal place is filling up fast ... Studying and smoking Kentucky Club in a Peterson Rocky Donegal 80S... A bottle of Gatorade on the side...

Wilke #622 in Fritz Becker 8" shank rusticated Canadian, been awhile on this pipe & carefull if move around if in mouth, seldom do that. One of quite a few pipes from the 80s with late Barry Levin's Polaroid snail-mail flyers. Anybody as old as me would recall those days, even pre-dates PCCA & Bob Hamlin. (Actually the two were close friends, sometimes would head together on trips to Europe to buy, esp to Castello factory.
now a Tinsky freehand, same baccy & a Classic Coke by side
81, skies darkening, probable rain soon
Ed-was today's small history lesson in pipe lore!

Latakia is nasty stuff. Been mixing a few pinches with my Z92. When cleaning the Petes the stinger is black with goo and the reservoir has lots of black gunk. Doesn’t happen with Z92 by itself.
Tasty though, and I am enjoying it.
