The word todays is "Sesquipedalian" or one who uses big words, long words. From the Latin Sesquipedalia or 1 1/2 foot. Became part of the English language in the 16th Century, or so I have read.

The native tongue of the Sesquatch.
Sesquatch: Homo Sapien prone to using large words to impress what he perceives as lower creatures in his daily discourse.

Medical terms are an endless source of scientific foppery.

You may intend to use ostentatious, or pretentious in regards to scientific and Latin terms. Fop specifically refers to self regard in terms of physical dressing or clothing. See, the fop, dandy. The macaroni. (Yankee Doodle) (This being totally tongue-in-cheek in regards to the spririt of this thread, of course! Tongue-in-cheek being my favorite style of internet pedantry and often taken far too seriously.)

Medical terms are not real words. They are a specialized jargon and usually only appear in a medical dictionary.
