Haunted Bookshop in the Tuesday cob. The herb and kosher salt sourdough crackers are baked (they are very tasty). The bread dough is doing it's thing in a bowl. Dinner's going in the oven shortly.

My 10yo snuck up behind me as I was trying to decide which pipe to smoke. Turns out she had a DARE officer in school today talking about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. She laid the guilt on me real thick. Bless her heart. Anyhow, I am loading up some Dracquer & Sons, King’s Fool in the cob.

A couple pics of the Paul's Cayuga freehand from last night: your pictures show the pipe better than the pictures off the website Yeah, theirs left a lot to be desired. Ordinarily, I wouldn't even buy from a site that didn't show me better pics of what I was buying, but this was a special case. Anyway, that's why I took my own rather than reusing the site's like I usually do.

When I get them in person they are so much nicer than the pictures of the pipe I purchased I feel like I got a better deal when I open the box and it's twice the pipe.

Smoking my Old Dominion Stack billiard, filled from an old jar labeled August-8-2010 White burley & Black Cavendish. I smoke a bowl of it now and then to remind me to try harder, but It has become more smokeable over the years, just not for everyday. In 2010, an old pal made a 5LB purchase of white burley for 25 dollars...he sent me a LB, and I mixed it with this or that...this jar was mixed with Smokers Pride Black Cavendish, and used to be called Black & White Mistake #1.

Yeah, SP kind of sets the standard for our expectations! Ebay can really pay off when someone does a crappy job of taking pictures, always good to buy from someone that accepts returns, but you have to pay shipping both ways. Years ago, I bought a pipe off ebay where a guy was an excellent photographer… at deception. The pics looked good, but one side (the side not in the pics), it had a cracked bowl. He claimed that I must have droppedit, I presented the evidence to Ebay, and he finally relented. Saw the same pipe posted a few weeks later, same set of pictures.

Nothing for me tonight. My infamous brown tongue is not de-browning since I stopped drinking rooibos tea. It did some, but has stalled. So, now I'm back to laying off the pipe for a while to see what happens.

I have one of those. It's a great pipe. I got it from the bunch that fell off the back of the truck for 23 bucks. I think I remember that story. I had to pay full price for mine, but it's one of my favorites so it was worth it. At the time they were retailing for $108. I thought that was a a good value. I just got 3 for 69 bucks. 😁

Good Morning! It's a cold 24° here with a clear sky. The workshop is like an ice box right now, so the heater, heating pad, and electric foot warmer are all up and running. This afternoon the oxygen supply guy is coming with a more tanks for my wife. I let the Don Carlos from yesterday's smoking dry out and today I'll try out the sanding cones on the Dublin bowl. Starting the smoking day with HH Pure VA Flake in the Peterson Rosslare 106 smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!

Can you even make a ten year old understand the differance between pipe smoking as a hobby, and smoking as a habit??

I’m pretty short though at 5’6”, so she remarked that, “tobacco stunts your growth which is probably why you’re short”. Hahaha!
