Another bowl of Sobranie in the new Sav. Im really enjoying this new pipe. I’ve switched from tea to coffee now. My wife’s car is in the shop today. We expected a $2-3k steering rack replacement. Turns out it’s only a $300 ball joint replacement. Thank God too. Every single December, by our luck, we somehow manage a $1-2k bill to fix one of our vehicles. Looks like we’ve finally broken the cycle!

Good morning! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob and coffee. Gonna help my wife with some holiday baking, then I'll put the loaf of sourdough in the oven.

Can you even make a ten year old understand the differance between pipe smoking as a hobby, and smoking as a habit?? No she doesn’t understand. She was just reciting everything she learned. I’m pretty short though at 5’6”, so she remarked that, “tobacco stunts your growth which is probably why you’re short”. Hahaha! You can’t make an insurance company understand it, either.

A couple pics of the Paul's Cayuga freehand from last night: After about 50 smokes, my Cayugas develop a nice glowing patina.

Mostly Mac Baren Mixture Scottish with a topper of Symphony, in a St. Regis pot. matt the past couple years running, I have also put around $2k into my car in December so I totally understand that. Plus, last December the week or two before Christmas, some jackass at the mall keyed my back right passenger door at complete random. I didn’t see a thread about it, but what’s the deal with Paul’s Pipe Shop? They’re closing the store due to the structural/attached condemned building I imagine and they’re still going to sell online?

My understanding was that business was also down quite a bit.

The store is not closing. The store does not want to close. The store will only close if the condemned building next door falls down and takes Paul's wall with it or Dan is tired of paying more in overhead than he’s taking in in revenue. Unfortunately, this scenario could very well happen. The pandemic really hurt business. Then this past year, the street in front of the shop was shutdown for months to completely rebuild the brick paved street. And business went to shite as a result. You could only get to the shop via the back door from the alley. Then, the condemned building next door partially collapsed in back causing issues with accessing the back door too. Road construction finally finished and about a month later, they had to closed the street again to repair the construction mistakes that had appeared. For a while there, posted business hours were 9am until we get bored and go home.

I’ll have to order some stuff to support the store sometime after Christmas. Wasn’t sure what was happening since I spoke with them last summer.

Partegas in my Berkeley Bent... A large sweet tea alongside... I feel like I may have asked you this before, but I don't remember the answer: what's Partegas? I'm familiar with Part agas cigars, but not with a Partegas pipe tobacco.

Good Morning! It's 23° here with a mostly clear sky. This afternoon all that I have to do is make a supermarket run. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the Don Carlos smooth bent Two Note and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!
