Good Morning! It's 49°, damp, with a cloudy sky, and everything is wet from last night's rain. Not much on the list this afternoon, so I really should scan my latest postcard and add it to my blog. The smoking day has begun with a bowl of Scottish Flake in the BBB Freestyle half-bent pot and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! No change in the weather, but a milder day is forecast with rain showers and drizzle. This BBB Freestyle pot is giving me good, long smokes and I'm currently working on a bowl of Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake. Time to sip my coffee and check the headline news.

MERRY CHRISTMASGreetings from Athens-Greece, we have sun and 64 'F (unfortunately no snow). As you can see the quality of the photos is low, i don't know what's happening. I transfer them from my smartphone to my pc, stored in USB stick in a HUB in separate files. I check them after 1-2 days and ALL of them are OK, i make a second check after few days and suddenly some photos have been deformed! I run and Antivirus-Antimalware check and nothing found. The USB stick is permanently attached to the HUB for years, has enough space and suddenly the latest months some photos (which were in perfect condition) get damaged. Take a look: Why this happening? Can someone help me? I've had this experience with SSDs and pocket drives. I believe that the cells just go bad after a certain amount of time. The older ones and the current cheaper ones don't have robust error correction. This is one reason why the business I worked for kept copies of everything on RAID arrays of spinning disks. We had 14 terabytes of data on RAID SSDS for the speed advantage, but it was all backed up by the conventional drives. I run SSDs at home, but they are backed up to a 4TB drive every night.

Put two bowls of Eccentric through my Rattray's 107 Dark Ale, fine little pipe I had repaired this fall. Glad I did, although it cost more than the value of the pipe. I really don't lean towards large pipes, although I do have a Savinelli 616KS Sistina that I'll pull out from time to time. It's an over 2hour smoke for me.
