Good Saturday Morning! It's 9° here with a cloudy sky and about three inches of new snow has fallen since yesterday. This afternoon I'll shovel the walk to the driveway, spread some ice melter, take a break, and then make a supermarket run. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Two Star Special smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my insulated work coat. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 12° and the sky is still cloudy here. Finishing up a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the BBB smooth billiard and occasionally sipping my coffee. Next will be some Peterson Flake. Time to check the headline news.

Happy Saturday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Saturday cob and coffee. As I smoked a bowl of that blend last night, I predicted that you would start your day that way. What a wise one I am with my predictive ability!

Enjoyed a bowl of Ted's Blend #300 in my GBD Century 347 tall Apple during the drive to and from brunch at our favorite breakfast place. A different sauce on the Corned Beef Frittata today. More like an adobo sauce than a salsa. A tasty change. 😀

Felt like something light and bright, so I’m smoking Mac Baren Virginia No. 1 in a meerschaum calabash shape pipe.

The poor thing has three fills, two on the upper shank, and one real eyecatcher on the rim, but it's a smoking trick.

2018 GLP JackKnife Plug in an RDPipes Morta with Cumberland stem ... black coffee to drink. Any opinion on fresh vs. aged on this blend, Darin? I've found most Pease blends age well and JKP is no exception. The Virginia's have smoothed out and the Burley edges rounded. It's not quite as smokey as fresh, perhaps.

Very Appropriate Urb!! He was an Air Traffic Controller for 20 years in the US Navy before getting the job in charge of the tower in Memphis and then becoming the Manager of the Airport. Spot On!! Was he ever stationed at Millington? Could have been in the late 70's or 80's I think.. Where's Millington?

It's not quite as smokey as fresh, perhaps. Yeah...probably a dumb question. Regardless, sounds like a fine smoke! I have an 8oz tin and 3 or 4 smaller ones, probably need to do a drive test.

I like my tabac (Sutliff Z92) pretty dry. I just got my usual order of 5# and it is way wetter than usual. I dry batches of about a week’s worth at a time. 195° in the oven for half an hour hardly touched it this time. Needed another couple of minutes in the MW before jarring. Moisture level seems to vary a LOT when I get this stuff, but this last batch was really damp.

Thank you, I claim no responsibility...all Don's magic, and it smokes as good as it looks. He is a true pipe engineer and artisan. And it was a free pipe that I acquired at the West Coast Pipe Show raffle.
