Good Morning! It's 23° here with a light snowfall. This afternoon I have to make a supermarket run depending on the weather. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of fresh Peterson Flake in the BBB Freestyle half-bent smooth pot and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my insulated work coat. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 22° here with some light snow falling right now. Just finished watching a bad but good black and white "B" movie on YouTube. Currently smoking a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Freestyle while sipping my coffee and it's time to check the headline news.

Eureka/Sterling mix in the Ben Wade Pick-axe, coffee on the side. My only plan for today is to make a big pot of chicken stew, and smoke my pipe as it simmers...only thing holding me up is peeling those dern potatoes.

Happy Friday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Friday cob and coffee. It's 22 and been snowing all morning. Got another couple inches to shovel. I'll spend a little time in the workshop today. Need to come up with a plan for tonight's dinner.

Good morning all. A lull in the temperature assault in the south. 40º going to 43º. Yea!! Back from study group and going to begin the day with a bowl of Presbyterian Melange in the Schoenleber Canadian... The ever present black coffee alongside while I await the wife to get ready to go shopping. Where would they be without us? I could have gone while I was out and been done for the day already, but, nooo, gotta wait for her majesty.

A good friend of mine I grew up with lives in Memphis. He used to run the airport, think he's retired now... Sounds like a big job. Very Appropriate Urb!! He was an Air Traffic Controller for 20 years in the US Navy before getting the job in charge of the tower in Memphis and then becoming the Manager of the Airport. Spot On!!

I have a sh!?@&d of tobacco, but for whatever reason, I never tried Haunted bookshop. At the Vegas pipe show, Pipe crate was handing out decent sized samples, smoking it in a favored Yorktown Canadian…. I think that this Silver guy is onto sumptin’!

Friday Savinelli #2. Silver Strike in a Savinelli One Zulu. I think Pete was referring to a Sav. 673 when he talked about a "Friday Savinelli". It's a YTPC thing. One of the very first pipe smokers to start posting videos there smoked a 673 every Friday during his livestreams and called it his "Friday Savinelli". When he died unexpectedly, the name went viral. (Well, as viral as something in the pipe world can go, anyway.) It may be that Pete wasn't aware of that, I don't know.

2019 G.L. Pease Embarcadero in the new Savinelli 620 rusticated dry system. Definitely has an acrylic p-lip stem, initially, I thought these still only came with vulcanite and it seemed like a soft bite for acrylic. 3rd smoke with 24h dry time in between on the same balsa filter. This may be the last one, I may get one more smoke. How long do people typically use the balsa filters? After each smoke the well is completely dry and nearly all moisture has collected in/on the balsa. I like these. Without, the moisture collects down in the system trap as usual.

When I used them more, I usually went by smell and color. After smoking, take it out of the pipe, roll it in some paper towel, give it a squeeze, see what you get. When it started to look or smell like something I didn't want near me, I trashed it. I doubt I re/used one more than about 3 times.
