Lunch was my own lentil soup made with lamb bones broth from the shanks last week along with a small salami and cheese sandwich. Most welcome now.

BulDak spicy chicken and cheese ramen. Its actually spicy unlike most ramen i've had. It reminds me of mac and cheese with some kick to it.

We tried a new Thai place tonight that just opened and were not disappointed. While not Thai, I ate at the Golden dragon in Flagstaff recently, it was pretty good.

Had lunch at Denny’s today, their $ 2/4/6/8 menu or the 55+ menu give pretty inexpensive options. I was impressed by the Garden salad that was super fresh, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and iced tea with a tip for-under $20
Grilled cheese on sourdough back at the hacienda.

Tonight was chicken gyros with homemade tzatziki, lettuce and tomatoes on lavash, instead of pita bread. Getting cooler up here so Jr asked if we can make some chicken soup so we will do that over the weekend

Krusteaz Pancakes, bacon, coffee, raw milk.
Fresh apricot.
The stone fruits available at Albertsons for some time have been excellent through this season.
I have eaten my fair share of peaches, apricots, pluots this year, etc… over the sink of course.😉

A stir fry with chicken, cabbage, Bok choy, scallions, ginger, garlic, Oyster Sauce, Tamari Sauce, Chili paste, Soba noodles.
And please do not tell Dr. Warburg, I have a small cheese cake in the refer for later. I have not had a single sweet in eight months except for one milk shake two months ago. Looking forward to this. I might make a blueberry coulis to top it.

Spaghetti and meatballs what could be easier? And it really is, but with a few upgrades it can be a stellar meal. I travel a lot on the company dime, but always feel like the company is getting ripped off when paying $50 for a plate of pasta… really? I am a big fan of America’s test kitchen. The show on PBS and more importantly the cookbook are awesome. They try every imaginable attempt at creating a meal and distill it down, and this one is no exception! And in the cookbook they critique the best cooking utensils, tools/ and appliances and they have yet to do me wrong. Tip: If you do this, it is easier to triple the recipe, after the meatballs cool down, put them in the freezer on. Cookie sheet 1 hour before vacuum sealing ready made, and good to go. Jarred Pasta sauce is pretty darn good, I have made it from scratch, but the jarred stuff like Prego’s is close to the mark without the hassle. Bon Apetit! imgur.com/a/lkSSXdV

I made Beef on Weck today. I got some kaiser rolls and did an egg wash for the salt and caraway. 0.4 pounds of thinly sliced roast soaked in au jus and extra hot horseradish. So good!

Bon Apetit! imgur.com/a/lkSSXdVThe many jarred sauces I have tried fall short of the mark for me. I can doctor them to my taste. Some of them are overpriced for what they offer. Prego is basic and priced fairly. The Silver Palate is a joke. Newman's is good. I just like making my own. Easy enough. Then there is the New Jersey Sunday Gravy with meatballs, sausage, pork chops or ribs. The meatballs gotta be made with veal and beef. I sometimes make them with ground lamb and beef or ground elk. Veal is still the best but hard to find here.

HalalWorldDepot.com I checked to see if they are located near our forum members, so they could will call it for themselves. “Our company headquarters are in Michigan but we are an online based company.” 🙁 I would guess that in an operation like that they probably have a few depots around the country to facilitate shipping perishables.

Did you toast the bread and rub with some garlic and olive oil? No garlic. There is enough in the Columbus brand salami. Olive oil and toast, yes. Next time I will get out the old George Forman grill and see is I can press this sandwich. Ought to work.
