Breakfast was two poached eggs atop Bird's Eye brand "Power Blend", a mix of lentils, peas, broccoli, edamame, whole grains, cooked brown rice, white quinoa, soybeans, butter, salt, sugar, modified corn starch, soybean oil, dehydrated garlic, and dehydrated chives. Very good. Easier to buy than make.

Earlier my wife and I had a few small chunks of a crusty, multi-grain "Tuscany" bread that I picked up while I was out. It's not bad, but seems to lack a bit of flavor in the crumb. We'll have some more with Janet's homemade soup for dinner tonight.

Thin sliced Mortadella on crusty bread. Ought to hold me for a while.
Tonight I making ground Elk with onions, garlic, celery, carrot, black beans in gravy. Kind of a Scottish Mince but no peas on hand hence the BBs. Mashed potatoes are indicated but we shall see.

When I used to bake my own bread, I would allow a small portion of dough to ferment overnight and add it to the main dough the next day. This method really made a difference in the depth of flavor.

The Elk Mince came out great. The best ever. Home made mashed potatoes with it. The Black Beans are an improvement over peas.

La Ristra New Mexican restaurant with the wife. Farmer burrito with adovado chimichanga style for me. Rice bowl w/ shrimp for her. Sopapillas imgur.com/a/j8cfHDyFor work I have a generous meal allowance and I never exceed it, the boss told me that if there is money left on the allowance take the wife to dinner. I wish I was on per diem with the same generous amount…I would be eating beenie weenies on the road and taking a Viking river cruise each year in Europe. Use it or lose it.😐

We like the tomato basil, but our favorite is the minestrone. Unfortunately, it's our son's favorite and we rarely get a chance at it. Perfect appetizer for Italian meals.

Made a batch of Minestrone from scratch over the weekend. Now in the freezer, I used Progresso Tomato Basil for some of the liquid and chicken stock for the rest.
