John the enabler just costed me $42.00 in bagels. I haven't seen a decent bagel since we left Houston. But we can live without them. Half of the bagels will go to my daughters house...they would go bad before the two of us can eat two dozen bagels.

When we do buy bagels, I'm lucky to get one before my son eats them all. I used to drive by the Hot Bagel Shop on South Shepherd in Houston on my way to work every day. The owner was of Hebrew extraction out of NYC, so he never minded me being late as long as I remembered him. One of my better bosses. 42 bucks isn't bad if they are really good.

Breakfast of two eggs over easy on air fried steak fries cut from a Pacific root vegetable I cannot recall the name of. Not bad and lower glycemic impact.
Lunch was a cup of my potato leek soup with Vermont cheddar on sliced baguette.
A nap in between the two events.

Stuffed peppers. Made with rice cauliflower instead of real rice. Not bad. Enough seasonings and ingredients to disguise the cauliflower flavor.

I can cook but, because of my spinal arthritis, I can't stand up for very long in order to do so. My job is kitchen clean-up.

Since youse guys ordered bagels, here is my favorite smoked salmon schmeer recipe. Please note it can also be made with canned unsmoked canned salmon or herrings, preferably smoked. Wet or dry smoked salmon makes no difference. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 6 ounces smoked salmon, chopped, you can add more ¼ cup capers, or to taste
2 tablespoons chopped green onion (Optional) 1 ½ teaspoons chopped fresh dill
¼ cup heavy whipping cream 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce 3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 squeeze fresh lemon juice
Directions
Step 1
Gather all ingredients.
Step 2
Process cream cheese in a food processor to soften completely.
Step 3
Add smoked salmon, capers, green onion, dill, cream, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, and lemon juice. Process the mixture again until creamy and smooth.
