A slice of pecan pineapple upside down cake from a neighbor's roadside stand. Coffee on the side. The new restaurant is trying to get open before the the April 26 wildflower festival. Main issue is finding people who are willing to work. Coke guy was there installing equipment this morning. The owner wanted to use the old name because of the reputation and good will, but the previous owners mom owns it and she's a piece of work. So he's calling it The Ironwood Grill, same as his very popular restaurant in Texarkana. The food will be different, but maybe it will pull more people into the town square. EGO and Arrogance....I suppose she has a right to do so if it is codified in law regarding the name, but I think she is doing a disservice to the brand if the new owner sincerely wants to continue a great tradition. Glad that JD at the Country Squire was not faced with the same knuckleheadessness. I created a new word! None of you can use it though, I own it! I don’t know, I think I heard the president say that.

Henley isn't charging him rent for the place. Probably about 4k SqFt.

Home made meatloaf prepared by a neighbor. From their own cattle. Roast potatoes.
A burrito and a strawberry malt on the way back from Albuquerque. DQ, of course.

Dog can't have bone. Dog mad until the bone in trash. Glad small dog. 😁 Wife had a third and we have a couple of filet sized steaks tomorrow night. Came out great, like prime rib. Nothing like a thick steak.

Schlotskies deluxe original. I can get 2 meals out of one of these. Hard to beat a well made sandwich, in the 80's a mom and pop store in Mountain View Ca., The Spirit Shop made incredible sandwiches, with fantastic ingredients. Freddie's in North Beach/ SF has been at the same place since 1926...just far enough away from Fisherman's Wharf that only those in the know knew about it...I wonder if toshtego ever ate there? The grand opening date he was about 13 years old.... freddiessandwiches.com/

Fresh baked daily sourdough buns, lots of meat and great seasonings. They have decent pizzas and the wife would eat the strawberry chicken Caeser salad every day.

I am hungry the dog is hungry and I smell beef. Never get between a ninja chihuahua and its feed. In this case medium rare sirloin, Brussel sprouts with pecans and blue cheese in a butter reduction. Mediterranean style rice. Never doubt the Chihuahua when it counts.

Poached eggs on a bed of Parish Rice with red lentils. Banger on the side. Pot of tea. Been out searching for a lost Senior neighbor this morning. No joy. Two nights missing.

I just signed up for one of those prepared meal delivery plans. I need to eat better. The one I did was Factor and it's a keto/paleo type plan, mostly. I'm still gonna have carbs in my diet. They just won't come from my meals, much.
I'm a difficult eater, so we'll see how it goes. First delivery will be March 12.
