Supper was a cup of my own split pea soup. Genoa Salami and Sopressata slices on fresh baguette. Topped with a red pepper grilled in olive oil. Also Cotswold Cheddar on same bread.

A big slice of banana bread I got from a local kids table in the hardware store. He's 13 years old and has been baking and selling baked goods of all kinds for just over a year. Very popular in the area. An entrepreneur in the making. That warms my heart as much as the banana bread would. His grandpa came to pick him up just I was leaving. He was a miniature version of gramps, hat, boots, shirt and jeans. About a foot and a half difference in height and gramps had a 1911 on his hip. Loaded into a Ford Platinum.

Funny you should say that...I opened the freezer got tired of the steakums that have been there forever....It fit the bill, but I prefer to Finely shave a partially frozen piece of beef.

While butterflying a chicken I managed to stab myself, rather deeply, in the hand. Bled profusely all over the kitchen. Able to manage first aid. Washing, antiseptic, surgical sponge, tape wrap, rubber band on top for compression. Should hold. Chicken now in oven. The extra basting might be interesting! Mopped the floor and wiped the counter. Might have nicked a nerve, thumb is acting funny. Could just be initial reaction.

Wow...as far as you live from medical help, you should perhaps stick to butter knives, and bake whole chicken, bone in...sorry to hear of this; get well soon. I hate the sight of blood, even more when it's mine, or a fellow patcher!

I am clumsier now, coordination issues. The Chemo seems to cause it. I was making an improper knife cut and knew better but was trying to expedite. Oh, well. I will look at it tomorrow and if it looks as though stitches are needed will head for town. Packed it with Neosporin. That ought to retard infection. The chicken came out good. 500 degrees for 15 minutes, then another 18 minutes reset at 350. Nicely browned and juicy inside. Butterfly or Spatch makes a better roast chicken.
