KFC pot pies tonight. The wife is pretty sick, the only thing that sounded good to her. Sleeping in the guest bedroom tonight, whatever she has as a diversion from the notable movie …”I am not having what she is having” (Couldn’t remember if it was when harry met sally or sleepless in seattle) Too lazy to care.😉 I hope the Missus recovers quickly. As for KFC Pot Pies, sometimes they are pretty good. Sometimes I wonder where the chicken went! If you want a great chicken pie, try Jolly Posh. They have several chicken and steak pies. They are excellent. Best crust ever in a pie. Plenty of ingredients. I believe they are made by a vendor in one of the Carolinas. Delivered frozen for storage.

Thanks for the tip, but other than bagels I doubt that I will buy any groceries online, especially frozen.
I have a large freezer that stays constantly full.
From time to time I make pot pie from a rotisserie chicken, very easy and very inexpensive… if anything I have to not overdo it with the chicken!

From time to time I make pot pie from a rotisserie chicken, very easy and very inexpensive… if anything I have to not overdo it with the chicken! I need to do that more often. I always enjoy the results. Ready biscuit dough in the can makes it very easy. I roll the dough thinner to make more of a pie like crust. I use pie shells on the bottom but not the graham cracker ones! Potatoes, carrots, peas frozen mix with fresh mushrooms and my own chicken gravy made from stock. Somethings I cannot abide premade.

Pretty much the way I make it I am a crust cheater also. "Vivian" used to live next door, a child in Steinbecks America in Salinas valley...heavenly crusts she made for my pot pies, the only cost was she was given one....I should have been an understudy, I might be the "Famous Amos" of a Pot pie franchise.

Chicken Cacciatori with Angel hair pasta I used to make that frequently. Ditto Coq au Vin. Need to get back on it. Also, both are good with rabbit in place of the chicken. A meatloaf just out of the oven. Ground Elk, ground pork, diced: onion, red bell pepper, zucchini, celery, parsley, garlic, bread crumbs, two eggs, Piri Piri seasoning. Had to also make another cornbread this one with cheddar cheese chunks added along with Polenta uncooked for texture. The oven was hot, what else could I do???

You may live remotely, but you have a way of making the most of what is available. Sounds like a meal fit for a King.

Information is a bit sketchy coming out of the kitchen, but from what I can piece together, dinner will be sweet Italian sausage with potatoes and mushrooms.

Ususal munchies, store brand frosted mini-wheats, mixed nuts. Brunch soon, toaster pancakes one cycle, add couple Banquet sausage patties, add usual, nuke to plateful of mess. Eat in back room, check snail-mail then most likely to snoozie

My only problem with DQ is it would be impossible for me NOT to order a milkshake and that is verboten in these parts. Cancer loves sugar. Every time I drive through Española I have to avert my eyes when passing the DQ I used to always stop at.

Most of the DQs in my neck of the woods don't do hot food so I don't go their often. I do like the cherry dilly bars.

Had a catfish plate from catfish king for lunch and remembered why I usually drive on by. Over cooked and under seasoned. For what we spent on lunch, I could have got the 30 piece from the Filling Station and been set for the weekend with good fish for the same price.

Redenbacher popcorn cooked on the stove with cocoanut oil, melted butter.
Popcorn the way you remember it, no chemical taste like at the cinema. Still tastes fresh days later.

Bagged salad with olive garden Italian dressing. I find that since I can buy the dressing at the grocery store I don't go to olive garden anymore.
