Just took the wife out for an early Mother's Day dinner. Corbettes Catfish in Avinger Texas. Small place with great food. 3 large blackened catfish filets over rice and topped with crawfish etouffe. Loaded baked potatoes, chicken and shrimp gumbo and fried green. tomatoes on the side. First time we've eaten there even though it's only 14 miles. It's right up the street from Five D Cattle Company. People drive hundreds of miles to eat there. They serve twice the population of the town on weekdays. (361). Got to have a reservation and then it's far from fast food.

Managed to get to our favorite breakfast place for brunch today. I had the Fresh Start Crepes and my wife had the Greek Omlette. Mimosas? 😁

I prefer a Ramos Fizz but have yet to find anyone here who has even heard of them. Standard Brunch cocktail in San Francisco.

My wife and I took her Mom out to eat at Portillo’s for Mom’s Day.
There are two locations of this Chicago icon in the Metro Detroit area.

Took the ex-wife, her partner, my nephew and his wife and their two kids to Ricky's Cafe in Taos. Good NM food at a reasonable price. Fun time. The place was packed to the ceiling. They still managed to get the food out.

In green valley, lunch at the Arizona Family restaurant french dip Au Jus.
I have never understood why a restaurant would make a french dip on soft bread. The point of the AuJus is that it softens the crunchy dinner roll. A soft bread you get dough.🙄

We use the huge pork roasts we get for 99¢/lb to make French dip sandwiches, because you gotta eat all that meat somehow. And after a week, you get inventive. Got to have crusty bread, like you said. Day old rack is usually good for more than we need.
