It's 77° here with a cloudy sky and rain is on the way. It's raining hard in Cleveland and the Tigers vs Guardians game may get delayed. This system stretches from out Pete's way in Detroit to here in NE Ohio and may hang on for the rest of the week. I'm going to try to get in another pipe later on. No rain here, yet.

Vegas is producing a lot of new patients… the next 3 days are going to be rough… 27 patients.
Training a new guy that seems solid, so at least I will have some help.
Come Saturday morning, waking me will be like waking a grizzly.😉

Watching the Olympics and the House Committee Hearing on the Trump Assassination Plot via You tube PIP, while playing a PC video game. 83/83 in the swamp.

Scheduled for hernia surgery in a couple of weeks. I am ready to put this in the rear view mirror. Hurts most of the time now. At least it is about as routine as surgery can be. Good luck Don.

Took my truck to the stealership for service. I'm not impressed with the service manager/employee of the year/best attitude award. He seemed to be stoned. Going to be Friday before they look at it. I'm only half a man without my truck. 😖

I hear you Ron, wife said sell your truck you hardly use it, my reply I’m not a man without my truck, it’s paid for and I like to look at it in the morning when I smoke my cigar.

Hot and humid in NE Texas today,as usual. 88 degrees beats 107 anyway. In August we just don't go outside. I guess it's mostly the same all over. When we went to Maine in August it was worse than Houston, at least east of Portland. Bar Harbor was nice and cool though. If I was a billionaire I would have a cottage in Kerry and a town house in Dublin, and a nice place in Cass County Texas for October through April.

Mid 80s here with a light breeze. Nice enough. I hope to mow my back yard this afternoon. I am off the Chemo until Tuesday and starting to feel like I can do things.

Out on Lake Vallecito. Only one bite today. I failed to set the hook. Drifting down lake enjoying the sun and being a cork in my kayak. Heading in for a pipe and a beer.

90 in the shade. A bit too hot for me and yard work. Waiting until this evening and cooler temps. I might get bored and go out earlier.

95 here, today, with heat index of 107-114. It was 94/105 here today. Really not bad out before 2pm. Supposed to be 99 tomorrow 101 Friday. I don't need to do anything outside anyway. If I have to mow it will be OK before noon.

My idea of bliss— 78°, slow trip down a no-traffic country road, driver window open for spitting out cherry pits. Plus happy dog in the back seat, his window open, too. Hard to get much better than this.

From the garden today: 5 Hungarian peppers, 5 banana peppers, 2 sweet cherry peppers, 2 Japanese eggplants, 1 Italian eggplant,a few cherry tomatoes, a couple handfuls of green beans, 1 zucchini and a few cuttings of basil to root for more plants. Some of the lower leaves to be used in the kitchen. The tomatoes are being stubborn. So far only one Roma and two Cherokee Purples. When they start to ripen, I will be overwhelmed.

Actually, the garden boxes provide us with enough vegetables and herbs, and to share with the kids and a couple neighbors. One of our neighbors gave us a couple big tomatoes this morning. They came from her brother's garden. We've been handing veggies back and forth over the fence for a few years.

Update: in the center of the tomato patch, found a big Brandywine that's just started to color. I picked it to finish ripening in the kitchen and keep it safe from the squirrels. 1 lb. 6 oz. Not bad!

When we were in Houston we had an orange tree that would produce a couple of bushels of navel oranges every year. We distributed them around the neighborhood. Up here, we have been given a lot of fresh produce from people who have a surplus. It's being a good human.

Stayed at hotels that landscaped with grapefruit, orange, lemon or lime trees. Wish we could do that here.

Sadly, the squash plants I planted have not grown nor flowered. They just sit there. Perhaps planting them next to potatoes was a mistake? The spuds are doing great. I need to harvest them. Then maybe there will be some growth for the squash? This is all new to me.

Then maybe there will be some growth for the squash? This is all new to me. I had to look that one up. I guess that's a bad idea, because potatoes are heavy feeders and can pass blight to the squash plants. But, my zucchini is growing right next to my heavy feeder tomatoes. No problems, except for my impatience to get ripe tomatoes.
