I have just learned of the passing of my last close friend in Ireland. It’s true: the older you get the more dead people you know.; Another link has been broken. Sorry for your loss. I lost my first childhood friend from the "gang" late last year and it was tough to realize he was just the first. I feel you.

Sad news, Bob. My condolences. Life is one of those things everybody gets into with no good way to get out. Losing friends and loved ones as we age is maybe the worst part of the process.

Best thing today was all the people gathering in peace. Most of the locations in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, the people picked up their trash and left the fields, parks and town squares cleaner than they started. I love peace. OK, break's over, everyone back on your heads.

Back in 2004, I was so proud to have my 5 sisters and 2 brothers alive. We made quite a crew with a 30 year spread. Then I lost a sister, then another, and so on. Now I'm starting to lose my friends. I am tired of this sheise.

Almost no connection this morning. No TV and barely any phone. Rocked and rolled all night and still going all day today. 5 inches of rain so far.

I moved some stuff and hooked up the backup connection. Double DSL. 20 megs is good. The main connection is T-Mobile and we usually get 60 megs. Lightning hit the cell tower last night. We had epic lightning. ⚡

72, sunny and breezy here. Got my hands in garden soil. Planting lettuce, beet and radish seeds tomorrow. Happily curing my cabin fever.

Holey smokes! 5inches here would be a disaster. It's expected here. There is some minor street flooding in Shreveport and Carthage, Carthage got almost 8 inches as of this morning. I don't think there's much around here that CAN flood. Maybe if we had a week like we had in Houston with Harvey, with 54 inches in 6 days, but I doubt it. It's pretty hilly here, but it's broken up with plenty of creeks that feed into bayous. Jefferson is the only town around here that I know that has had flooding problems. There are markers in the town that mark level of the 1945 flood about 4' up the buildings. That's before they did several flood control projects like Lake O' The Pines. Most of the area has almost as much unusable bottom land and impenetrable swamp areas as buildable land. The creek behind my house could handle a thousand times it's current flow without approaching any homes. And it's flowing pretty good right now. Also, unlike AZ, we have actual dirt that absorbs water like a sponge, and giant trees that evaporate it slowly back into the clouds. This is normal.

72, sunny and breezy here. Got my hands in garden soil. Planting lettuce, beet and radish seeds tomorrow. Happily curing my cabin fever. Three smaller garden boxes ( 2' x 5') and two oversize planters prepped and ready to go. One larger box (4' x 12') turned over, needs to be raked. One more large box and two oversize planters to do. Done for the day. We'll see what gets done tomorrow. Definitely seeding the boxes that I prepped today.

Still raining here, over 6" and still going. It's darker outside than it was yesterday. Time to buy a snorkel. No, still fine, just damp. Another couple of feet and then I might worry a little. Main problem with all the rain is that some parts of the yard get muddy. I raise one part and another shows up. The last mudhole I filled just moved it uphill. It's a fools task to try to maintain anything like a lawn over an acre.

Boy howdy… Stateside, I lived in Texas, Kansas, California, and Colorado… and you are spot on… a lot of To the credit of the planners in Maricopa county any new projects require huge excavation projects prior to builds…. A lot of work goes into designing underground storage… even so 5 inches would be a challenge.

Replacing a tire on a John Deere 4020 is not a fun job. Three guys, most of the day, and now it’s toddy time! Hooray!
