And just to show it's not all sweetness and light with me:
If I were a professional baseball player (as I should be) and had a walkup song (or an entrance song, were I a closer), this would be it.

Nice pick. I never would have thought you to be a fan of Industrial Metal.

JimK I listened to your music months ago at your website, and when I decided to find you again recently (thinking your name was "John") I had no luck. I looked at every "John" in the "Members" list here. Needless to say, you were not there. Anyway--I remember the Madeleine Bay tunes--and loved them all. This one is my favorite. Absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, that isn't me. Same name, different guy. This is me.

Well that beats the socks off a collection of the .25 records at the thrift store.

Well that beats the socks off a collection of the .25 records at the thrift store. lol. I never stopped collecting records from the start, they are my oldest continuous collection of anything and they got really cheap in the 90’s, a fact I took advantage of. I had quite a few experiences around then where I ran across people who just wanted their record collections gone, no charge. Got a lot of great stuff that way.

You almost couldn't give them away for a while there. Nobody wanted to have them taking up space.

You know what I mean. I adopted digital format pretty early where when you ripped a album it was one file. Had to wait until 2002 before Window's Media Center was released. I miss the album covers but not the vinyl or the tape formats or endless CD's with broken plastic cases. Of course, a lot of music is lost to time and never made it through the transitional stages of formats. Even places like the Pirate Bay no longer have the files to download the hosts are gone.

When I started smoking pipes again around ‘99, I started collecting pipes and most of the true “old codger” crowd was dying off. I bought so many at 5% to 10% or less of what the same pipes are selling for now.

Excellent comparison and heck, we are kind of still in a golden age for buying CD’s right now (and DVD’s).

I never got rid of my vinyl or CDs. I trashed the cassettes ASAP. My friend wanted all the 8-tracks and he still listens to them. On his Klipschhorns. I told him that he is senile, and he replied that he's been trying to get there for 50 years.

8-tracks on horns sounds like a terrible combination. You'd hear every last bit of tape hiss, wow, and flutter.

Well there is nothing like rocking out and waiting for the track to change before you continue with the head bopping and a suitcase for the car that holds eight 8track tapes.
