Some very poignant Clifford Brown, who probably would be regarded as the greatest jazz trumpeter of all time had he lived longer:
This performance is poignant because we're hearing the last song of the last gig he ever played. The last song of his life, period. He died in a car crash on the way home from this performance.

Sad, but a great last thing to have done just before the end. Seems not many people can have a legacy from their last day that endures. More commonly, I would expect, “Hey, what did Tim do just before he died?” “Oh, he pretty much spent the day drinking beer and scratching his arse”. I wouldn’t mind the footnote of recording some great music on that day for myself.

He was mostly a be-bop player, which isn't my favorite flavor of jazz, but he would certainly have been hell on wheels at hard bop, my favorite, if he had lived just a little longer. You can hear some nascent hard bop in some of his recordings.

I was talking about electronic music with some friends and got the urge to pull out a Kraftwerk album.

You sent me down a rabbit hole! Interesting story that I was completely ignorant of…. The somg is well done also. Here are a couple more of my favorites. I have 2 of his albums that I listen to back to back often. My favorite album is The Eagle & The Snake: Songs of the Texians

Well that album was over too quickly. Moving on to something with a bit more energy. Listening now to Ministry on CD. Won’t mention the album name so I don’t trigger some algorithm.

Been listening to a lot of Eric Clapton lately. Liked his music, and respected his talent, but never 'followed' his career. Now I'm going back in time listening to his early albums.

I first became acquainted with his music with Wheels of Fire. I got the 8-track the day it came out and listened to it full blast in my car every morning before school. Got my mind right for the day.

She had a copy of Bare Trees. We have about 8 other albums of theirs. Saw them once. I think it was Mick had his leg in a cast. Overall, they seemed flat that night. But it was Hearts first tour and they were the opening act. It would have been impossible for anyone to measure up to them at their peak.

Saw Stevie in concert, solo, a couple of times too. At one of her concerts, Glenn Frey was the opening act (after the Eagles broke up). Many people left after he played. They were only there to see him.

My son dragged me to an Alice Cooper concert in the Woodlands Pavillion (outdoor) in early August. There were 2 opening bands. I never heard of the first one, before or since. About 20% of the crowd left after they played. Next up was Halestorm. I think Lzzy had some fans. Another 30% left after their act. I felt bad for Cooper. He gave it his best hot, but he was over 65 and the heat was a lot. I watched the show because I figured if he could hang, so could I.

The Woodlands Pavillion is a miserable place in August I used to cheat and just park at HEB and listen to concerts sitting in the back of truck in a lawn chair. Well at least I could catch a breeze that way.

Well at least I could catch a breeze that way. I listened to a Pink Floyd concert at Jeppeson stadium in July 68 from the parking lot across the street until it got too hot. Shell parking lot too. We actually only lasted a couple of songs. Glad we didn't have tickets.

My favorite GD album. I have listened to it all the way through many times. Don't care for maybe a couple of their other songs. Not a deadhead for sure, but I do like this. Ron, Our tastes align when it comes to the Grateful Dead. I could have written this myself!
