Music for those watching the eclipse. I suspect it'll be a bit quieter at our house.

I've been listening to some 80s music on Sirius lately after I got tired of everything else. A lot better than I remembered. You reach a certain age and you can forget whole decades.

I like hearing the “America’s Top 40” with Casey Kasem from time to time. A lot of songs that I have not heard in years… some for good reason that is the case, not so for others. I like a lot of the R&B by African Americans from a few generations back, there was some great music.

I'm always a little surprised they let that song on the radio and into jukeboxes, back in the day.

I'm always a little surprised they let that song on the radio and into jukeboxes, back in the day. I don't remember ever hearing anyone complaining. Of course back then people could complain all and no one heard them. It was nice.

Most of the music we have been discussing doesn't require more than a transistor radio to enjoy.

Sitting at a Sheraton hotel, a young group of jazz musicians are the restaurant entertainers. They just did Dave Brubeck’s “take five” as if they owned it. The 1/2 pound Pastrami Sandwich was also excellent.

ST James infirmary...that brings back memories... There was a bar by that name in Mt. View Ca. that was notorious for serving strong drink...a lot of the tables were picnic type tables with benches. I was getting hammered with a worker and at another table two other guys were sitting near another guy. I guess that single guy was not shy about expressing his interest in one of the two. That person picked up an ashtray and launched it at the guy and blood spurted from his forehead...that awakened the beast, he got up and it was obvious he was trained in the martial arts and delivered a beat down...that guys buddy split like a cheap pair of trousers. My drinking buddy said "Damn, glad that he did not flirt with me I might be in the same boat.... "hey would you back me up if that happened?" I told him "Go look in the mirror, ain't nobody hitting on you, man or woman.

Back home, smoking and listening to Cage the Elephant, Melophobia on vinyl. I have a really hard time putting the man in your avatar together with your taste in music.
