I seem to have gotten that out of my system. For this next selection, the volume control is turned all the way to the right.

There is a story to this. Turn on captions before you play it.

This is nice this time of night. Really like their Trinity Sessions album. I have that on a direct to disk recording. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was from the Stereophile store. Pure ambiance.

I've got it on fancy vinyl. Well, what I'm referring to is fancy vinyl. They recording is made directly onto a master disc. I also have the "Dave Grusin Discovered Again" direct to disc mentioned in the link below. There is a diffence in the sound of the direct to disc and the Stereophile recordings where they use 2 microphones and no intermediate editing. Those recordings were noticeably clearer and more natural. On the classic Klipsch speakers, it was night and day. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-to-disc_recording

Well I got caught up in Eurovision. It’s over, my pick below, Ireland, didn’t win.

My wife and I enjoyed an afternoon performance by the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra on Saturday. It was really excellent. Driving to and from Symphony Hall was perfect as well for a Saturday. A really nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon, followed by dinner and a visit to the art supply store. (I controlled myself really well and came out of the store only spending around $30. A handful of pens and a felt pouch to keep them in).

The music director / conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin is phenomenal. I just re-upped for the 2024-2025 season, and my wife and I will be doing a series of Sunday matinee performances. There’s something about live music, especially classical music, that just can’t be captured on recordings. I agree with you - a nice way to spend a weekend afternoon!

We lived in Houston and for many years we had season tickets to the Houston Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera and the Alley Theater. The traffic got so bad in the late 90s that it wasn't worth it to try to go to any of the cultural opportunities. Only way we would go back is with a fully self-driving car.

Actually traffic was not a problem at all. Once you get off the interstate it is only down a few blocks and the parking garage is right across the street. We took Peachtree back to Buckhead and didn't have any problems at all.
