I was flipping through my records and stopped at Altered Images. I miss 1982.

I’ve never been able to like Neil Young as a person, but this song has held a special place for me since it came out. I saw him live about four or five years ago and I was looking forward to this song, but he messed up the lyrics to it. His own song. It was kind of a letdown. Durn. He is getting a bit older, so I guess you'll have that. I've loved that whole album since it first came out, and that song in particular.

Eureka! I found the perfect background music to my life. What's a department store? 😁 In Germany they were called "Magazines".

Nothing like simplicity: A tenor guitar, fiddle, and two pleasant voices.

More simple music: A guitar, a fiddle, and a very Irish voice....

How's your new amplifier working out?

How's your new amplifier working out? Listening as we speak. So far, I'm really digging it. Sound stage is amazing. All those usual tubey adjectives apply -- warm, rich, round, etc. Detail is great. It has surprising bass for a tube amp, and it's surprisingly silent with no signal applied. All in all, I'd call it very easy to listen to. Haven't tried it with the Maggies, yet. I'm not sure it has the juice to drive those.
It's built to a fare-thee-well. I mean nothing out of place. No stray anything. No gaps. No crooked anything. Nothing showing where it oughtn't be showing. It might actually be the best built object I've ever owned.

Great! Have you overdriven it to get that nice soft clipping? 😉

Bootlegs recordings of the Grateful Dead through a stack of Schiit with Meze 109pro open back headphones. In the 90s the dead would show up in Las Vegas in June and the heads would travel from miles around to fry in two ways with desert heat. Bootleg cassette tapes would show up like crazy as the heads needed money to follow the band. Some say the Dead was the greatest band on earth but Jerry was a world renowned a-hole in real life and the Warlocks could never play a song twice the same way to save their souls.
