Had a couple more bowls of Friar's Bayou in the Saturday cob while manning the smoker. Now, more Friar's Bayou, this time in a Paul's Cayuga billiard.

A bowl of Stockton, a decent smoke, but I think a few years would be kind to it. Perhaps a decade, frankly.

A bowl of Stockton, a decent smoke, but I think a few years would be kind to it. Perhaps a decade, frankly. I’ve got some of the Stockton from the limited 2021 release, may be a few years before I open one. I felt similarly about the Royal Twist De Luxe. Fairly tasty but also a bit flat fresh. Hoping the rest of the tins age really well at the 7-15 year mark. I digress a bit, but I find Mac Baren tobaccos in general are either hit, or completely muddy and miss. Their latest Pipe Force series (made under Sutliff) really innovate and provide new pipe tobacco flavor profiles but some of their VA, burley mixtures, and coins can be very monotoned and flat. Your mileage may vary.

I used to lay wine and port down, a few friends and I would pitch in to a common cellar. Every time we cracked a bottle we’d toast our old selves.
My tobacco cellar is similar, but since I just took up the pipe in 2015 I don’t have too much depth on the cellar. But every time I pull a well aged item outta the cellar I feel the same. I have a few Stocktons that I’ll shove in the back of my cellar/closet, and who knows? Maybe someday I’ll be in a position to smoke ‘em.

A tobacco cellar is like a 401k: get it started, keep contributing to it, and forget about it. You'll be discovering wonders in the back/bottom of it for years in retirement.

Good Sunday Morning! It's 35° here with a cloudy sky. This afternoon we're going to our daughter's house to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday with lunch and ice cream cake. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of Peterson Flake in the Savinelli Venere 128 rusticated billiard along with my coffee. Have a good one everybody!

Good morning from Athens-Greece, we had light rain but now sun with clouds and 64 'F. The ''mess'' of reality.

Good Morning Again! It's 34° here with a heavily overcast sky and the dampness is making my left replacement knee ache a bit. Smoking a bowl of BBF in the Sav rusticated billiard while slowly sipping my coffee.

Wessex Brown Virginia Flake from 2013.
I cracked this tin yesterday at a pipe club meeting… a real crowd pleaser! Glad we had a small crowd, I still have plenty left.😂

Glad we had a small crowd, I still have plenty left.😂 Wessex Brown VA Flake is one of my all time favorites. I have a few tins in the cellar, but I'll let them continue to age for a some more years. I'm sure it'll be delightful.
