Pulled out some 2018 Red Rapparee to fill the spot on the shelf opened by finishing off the Palmetto Balkan earlier. Enjoying a bowl in my 2008 Dunhill Amber Root 4103 oval shank Billiard.

Also, the process for bringing out "Syrian like" qualities from the Cyprian Latakia succeeded. People who like a well balanced mild English blend will probably like it. However, I disagree with using the word Balkan in the blend name. When I think Balkan, I think something strong in Orientals and Latakia like McC Balkan Blue or H&H BlackHouse.

Yeah the Balkan term gets bandied about loosely… The old timers really can get animated on this when they talk about the balkan blends “back in the day”…. Not a criticism of them, figure they know what they speak of. I think I have a tin of Balkan blue, 3 or four blackhouse…. Might be fun to do a pipe club comparison. I really like SG Balkan Flake, and have been repeatedly told that it is not a Balkan as it is oriental lacking.

I always wanted to try Presbyterian, but I never got to it. I am not buying anymore tobacco. There's a good chance that there's a forgotten tin in the cellar so I may get that chance.

Mornin' crew, you're falling down on the job. Good Saturday Morning! I'm here, Urb, I'm here. I was awakened by Lily the Cat who was walking on me because she was hungry, but I was glad to get some extra sleep. Anyway, it's 52° here and raining right now, but it's mild enough to have one of the workshop doors open a bit. Not much on The List for today, so maybe I can get some postcard work done. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of fresh HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall smooth quarter-bent Dublin and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a great weekend everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 51° here and still raining. The temperature will drop over 20° through today and tonight with a bit of snow possible before another warm up begins. Anyway, I'm smoking a bowl of fresh Wessex Brown VA Flake while occasionally sipping my coffee. Time to check the headline news.

Currently smoking a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the Upshall Dublin. I have enough for one or two bowls. I didn't order any more this month, but have two tins of C&D Bayou Morning Flake on hand for a VaPer.

I have a visitor here in the workshop. Timmy, our neighbor's cat, is prowling around and keeping me company. I'll feed him breakfast when I finish this pipe and head back to the house.

Getting a late start, just filled my Savinelli Arlecchino billiard with Spilman Mixture.
I did a trash haul this morning and did my good deed by swinging by my SIL’s and taking her’s as well. Timed the tide wrong and wound up having to drive through brackish water back in the salt marsh. That stuff’ ll rust out a car pretty quick. Hosed the truck down when I got back but I’ll need to get to a car wash tomorrow after the latest coastal storm clears. Right now we’re cloudy but the wind is picking up and rain will be here soon.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

The mornings almost gone; it's rainy here, and my whole crew slept very late. The coffeepot is working on something to get us going, and I picked out a Caminetto bent bulldog to get started with...it wares a black blast and twin bead-lines and it's marked Caminetto, over B-L-14...the blend of the moment is Bald Headed Teacher.

Enjoying a bowl of Carolina Red Flake in a Loewe and Co. billiard. Rain’s beating against the windows, and it’s nice to have an afternoon to do nothing.
