I like the cushioning from these soft EEEs, but I find that I salivate more and it's just an unpleasant 'moke. Mild distortion of flavor as well.

I tried them. Didn’t like ‘em. Trying to think of another use for them. No luck yet.

Didn't like the way they felt on my teeth.

They're a must for me, but I'm a clencher. Maybe I wouldn't need them, otherwise.
I do salivate quite a lot when I smoke (another reason to do my smoking outside), but I don't think the rubber bit has anything to do with it in my case.

Things are better.

I just can't stand the pressure that acrylic and Vulcanite put on my teeth. I also have to clamp down harder on them because they're slicker, which doesn't help.

Can't stand them I tend to smoke with the pipe resting in a nest made by my index finger and thumb so problem solved.

What is it you guys don't like about them, just out of curiosity? Nasty taste and feel. Tastes like a section of inner tube.

What is it you guys don't like about them, just out of curiosity? It just doesn't feel right. The increase in the size of the bit is too much for me.

They sounded like a good idea. But when I actually tried one I couldn’t get it off fast enough. To each his own.

The flavor of road tar and then they screw up the stem proportions. It's like seeing training wheels on thirteen-year-old boys BMX bike while the child still uses a pacifier.

I think we should pool all our unused rubber bits and send them to Urb.

I don't pay good money for a pipe with a nice bit, then screw it up.

With Darin on this one...never used 'em, never will. Only thing close, yrs back wrapped vulcanite bits with electrical tape once, retard the oxidation. Only lucite stems for many years
Ed-defines "different" in many ways, all know!

I’m a clincher. I use them to protect the stem. I personally don’t get a taste from them.
I don’t have the time at the moment. But dig deep in the patch. May have been 20 17, 2018 there was a few people that discussed using that plastic heat shrink tubing. That you put on electronics At least I think that’s what it was. But you buy it at the hardware store. You long timers here. This made click in your memory, And remember what I’m talking about. I’ve never tried it I’ve just bought the softy bits

That tape is great and indespensable when making wireing harnesses, but I don't think it would be any easier on the teeth. It gets quite hard when shrunk. And removing it would be a problem.

In the thread, Instymp said he heard of others using it, didn't suggest shrinking it.
Saw that name and wondered...wonder what happened with Mike, just dropped off...
