It’s cooled off some but still humid and raining off and on. I’m sticking with lighter picks. This time it’s Reiner Golden Flake No. 71 in a Georg Jensen Gigant. Very nice pipe. Extraordinary grain.

Happy Tuesday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Tuesday cob and coffee on the front porch. I've moved to the back deck to be closer to my work. But first, I'm going to sit and enjoy more of the morning. It's 74, sunny, and a little humid with a gentle breeze. The sort of morning I dream about in January.

Got everything watered, now I'm having some Friar's Bayou in the barrel-shaped meerschaum.

At this point, he's taking her places just to drive the car. And no more "open window" air conditioning, rattling noises, or worn-out seats. I could get used to this! Our cars are still in good shape, but after I saw that Chevrolet was canceling the Malibu I went shopping. I have always liked the Malibu as comfortable and practical transportation. They are clearing them out for as cheap as $20,400. New models are cheaper than used. Talking to the wife about selling her Scion and getting one. We'll see.

Derby Club Aromatic in a Nording handmade freehand the wife gifted me, as we passed the twenty-five marker...coming up forty-seven this year, with no pipe in the plan.

Good Late Afternoon! It's 86° out here on the deck with scattered clouds, brilliant sunshine, and a light breeze to make sitting here comfortable enough. I just cleaned a pipe and I'm smoking a bowl of Scottish Flake in the MM Mark Twain cob. Listening to streaming smooth jazz and there's a glass of cold water on the side.

Hello all, smoking some old Old Gowrie in a Dunhill Prince. As expected the sun came out and it’s a beautiful warm day by the water. Reasonable humidity, I wish it would stay like this all summer.

Pesse Canoe Oriental Flake in an antique French clay pipe with bird bone stem. That's a really unique pipe, Ted. How old is it? Thanks Russ! 1880’s to 1890’s is my best estimate. It is very unique having an albatross bone and amber stem. Clay pipes almost never received such fine fittings when it was made. I have seen many examples of the same pipe/manufacturer with wood shaft stems and horn mouthpieces, but never another like this one. It’s probably my favorite clay pipe that I have.

While searching through some pipe racks, I found a self-made slightly bent billiard that I hadn't gotten round to smoking. This will be a dedicated Friar's Bayou pipe. That's what I'm smoking now. Tanqueray and tonic accompanies. Sitting on the front porch. 80, sun and clouds, humid.

Smoked some 2022 Ennerdale Flake in a Savinelli dry system 620 rusticated full bent Oom Paul w/ balsa filter last night. I plan on getting to some first release 2021 Eight State Burley later in an MM showcob 5th ave diplomat polished with a blue/white swirl acrylic short saddlebit.

I'm now having some PS English Oriental (306) in a bent Dunhill ring grain chimney. Image service is still on the fritz, so no pic. The shape number is 4412, if you're really interested.
