Good Saturday Morning! It's 70° with a clear sky here at first light. This afternoon I have to make the postponed supermarket run. Getting the smoking day started with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Two Star Special smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a great weekend everybody!

Good morning! I’m smoking Sun Bear in a Peterson semi churchwarden Dublin. This is one of two of these pipes I own, they were a 4th of July special from 2 years ago. I’m starting to wonder if this tin of Sun Bear has some kind of enchantment placed on it. Each day I think I’ve about finished it, and each morning I’m able to get another couple bowls from it. The flakes are probably a little denser than I thought.
It’s a pretty warm start here. We have an outdoor family event this afternoon at a local sportsman’s club, so I’ll probably be regretting my earlier attitude about the heat not being so bad. Hope you all have a good one.

Unknown blend over a base of SWRA in a no name calabash. Coffee on the side. Actually, I think it's EGR that Jiminks sent me about 12 years ago. It has that wine topping bite.

The calabash is a Pioneer, that particular one was likely made between 1975 and 1986, the time of their largest production runs of that version. None were marked beyond the packaging. Here are a few of mine, Savinelli Root whatever included for scale: Top left and middle bottom are the same vintage as yours, bottom right is 1960’s through early 70’s, top right is the last production. You can see there are variations in the stem mountings and stems.

Good Sunday Morning! It's already 79° with a cloudy sky and humid here just before first light. The heatwave appears to be be over with in the region and the daytime temperatures will be in the 80°s for a while. This afternoon my wife and I are going to go pick up some herb seeds for her planter box. The smoking day has begun with a bowl of the last bits 'n pieces of HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall smooth quarter-bent Dublin and I refilled the jar from a new tin. A fresh travel mugga coffee accompanies on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one everybody!
