I don't know what natine means. I just wanted to know your feelings about your city. Sorry, Native. Athens is a city with great ancient history but now i don't feel comfortable here, the quality of life got worst the latest years. Now it's full from non-Greeks, there are some safety issues, it's not clean as use to be, walking at night it's dangerous, huge problem with parking lots, you don't find someone to help you in something because those who came do not speak Greek or do not want to cooperate/have different attitude and ethics and you can not complaint for anything because the lefties will call you ''racist". If someone from them rob/stab/shoot you it does not go to jail immediately, they set him free with trial for his after 6-7 years (!) but even in self-defence you give his a slam then immediately the Police arrests you and in social the Liberals will make you No1 target.
I live here for decades but my heart is in my village (small town you call them in USA) were my parents house is, here in Athens is my house/job (Duty) etc but i don't want to buried here but in my village were my relatives are.

I understand. The same issues have destroyed my home town. (Houston, Texas) We moved to a very small town. Sorry to hear it though. As someone who has read everything about Greece and Greek history, I guess Athens will just stay in my dreams.

I visited Athens a long time ago when I was in the Navy. They told us to be careful of some Greek terrorist group at the time but we didn't have any trouble.

I visited Athens a long time ago when I was in the Navy. They told us to be careful of some Greek terrorist group at the time but we didn't have any trouble. Yes, there were some commie terrorists here which create problems but all the native Greeks here knows which was behind all of them. A secret service from a country far away from Greece, was some politicians ''long hand'' which murdered people which didn't agreed with their plans. When those plans became ''reality'' then oh what a coincidence all of these group disappeared or some of their members ended up in jail.
My father was in Port Police, has many pictures onboard in US ships and many happy stories to tell, also met your minister of National Defence back in 60's.
Keep in mind that the US embassy here till 1980 had no fence and people walking outside freely, no hostility at all and many ''american'' characters were in our local movies and watched many US Tv series, now things are very different and it's not our fault.

Very discerning observations of what humanity faces Sidstavros, and we see the same happening here, one would be wise to allow themselves to be informed by your experiences.
So many are either apathetic to what is taking place, or welcoming of it not knowing they sow the seeds of their own destruction.
