Found his wife's obit, nothing in the news for Ed. Yeah, I’ve been keeping an eye on the obituaries. Sad to say, but nobody might have bothered to place one. Yeah, I had the same thought. I'm going to write my own obit in advance. Well of course I would have to do that in advance. 🤪

I called the funeral home that worked for Ed's late wife. The nice fella/employee said he's not working with the family in any capacity right now. No deceased person with Ed's name in their records.

This is turning into quite a detective story. Kudos to Scott and others for taking it on. I hope we find Ed doing just fine and that it has just been a big misunderstanding along with some miscommunication.

His stepson's names are in his wife's obit. I can try to track one of them down. It is amazing how a name and a city of residence can yield online results. I found an archived obit of a cousin, found out the his dad “ uncle kenny” had a family no one knew about, and I had a cousin that lives nearby… quite a rabbit hole I entered by a name and city.

www.gilmartinfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Nancy-Jean-Duncan?obId=24326000I located a Mike Browne in San Diego. He is a realtor so I called the number on his website. He has never heard of Ed Duncan nor does he have a brother named David. I also found 2 David Browne's in Rochester. One happens to be a realtor too so I thought there would be a connection with Mike in CA. I left a msg for David the realtor and am trying to get info on the other David Browne who is an IT consultant but I cannot find a phone number.

So if you look at his wife's obituary, there is a candle lit on her tribute wall. The candle was lit by Bob and Mary Beth Lovria who are neighbors of Ed and Nan. I tracked Bob's information down and just spoke with him. He said he hasn't seen "Eddie", but his truck is in his driveway. Bob was at church but said between now and the weekend, he will go to Ed's house and knock on the door to see if he is OK. I gave him my phone number to stay connected and I will let everyone know.
He said "Eddie is a good friend, fast with a joke and even faster with his fiddle"
We might be getting closer

I doubt there’s any way to check for 911 calls, but it might be useful to call the Batavia police dep’t and see if they could help. Or maybe you’ve already done that… (Ask for a welfare check?)

Or maybe you’ve already done that… All 911 call transcripts need to be requested through OPRA (Open Public Records Act) requests and can take months to receive. Hoping Bob and Mary Beth can get me some information.

That's where all this started. Toshtego had them do a welfare check when we noticed he hadn't been online in a few days. They reported back that no one was home and his neighbors (not Bob, apparently) said he had been taken to the hospital and then a nursing home.
That was the last information we had.
