Good morning from Athens-Greece. The "Zatrikion" (1600 BC) was one of the most popular pastimes of the Greek royal families, who used it to teach their children that the king was powerless without his people. Like chess today, it had 64 positions, each corresponding to a separate region of the kingdom. Of course, the king should under no circumstances lose a single district of his kingdom, for then he would be left alone and desolate, without arable land and nationals. The ancient Greek Zatrikion was later renamed Byzantine Chess (it was circular in shape), a copy of it is also housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Good Morning! It's 49° with a cloudy sky and everything is wet from overnight rain. This afternoon I'm going to take care of small household chores and basically goof off. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of fresh HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall smooth quarter-bent Dublin and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Happy Friday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Friday cob and coffee in the cave. It's 50 and cloudy here. On the schedule today is a haircut and a trip to the hardware store.

Good Afternoon! It's 49°, cloudy, and damp here in our town, but the workshop is comfortable with the heater on low. I'm all caught up with the laundry and currently getting caught up with my pipe smoking, a bowl of Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake in the MM General cobwarden. There's a bottle of cold water on the side to pair. Have a great evening everybody!

Samuel G. 2021 Navy Flake in ring grain Peterson silver spigot fishtail 9s maybe not sure no stamp but it's a fancy one to me earlier. Sharpening a few chains before I start the grill. Was given Korean BBQ for supper this evening all ready to go I just got to grill it.

C&D Night Train from 2016 in an H&B Irvin S. "corndog" from Washington Missouri. A match made in heaven; this smokes really nice, in the old cob....and it does this old cob good also.   For some reason, I've always thought Night Train was a latakia-heavy blend, a la Ed's tastes. I guess it's the name. |

Good morning all, I had to take a break from the pipe while my mouth healed up after having a tooth pulled. I’m smoking a bowl of Squadron Leader in a Savinelli smooth billiard while the tide rolls in. We’re in a severe drought in the mid-Atlantic, but the full moon has pulled in very high tides so we’ll be cut off from the mainland for a few hours. As the Ancient Mariner said, Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink. Have a good one all.
