It's boring to read, but exciting to smoke; still puffing away on my blend of MB Virginia No.1 and Golden Extra. But...in my silly pipe: the homemade very reverse cobabash, inspired by the work of another smoker.

Earlier I had a bowl of Special Latakia Flake in a Radice Bark oil cured twin bore billiard with a white stem. Just finished a bowl of P&W #515 in a Al Pascia Curly reverse calabash I just got from the collection of the Jolly Green Giant. Lambrusco over ice on the side.

Now smoking House Of Calabash Seven of Nine in a 2002 smooth natural straight silver banded Ardor Venere Extra Fatta A Mano Maigret billiard, signed by Dorelio Rovera and a black acrylic stem. Have enough left for a bowl or so. Jim, I see you smoking this blend a lot recently. Does it taste as good as she look(ed(s))? Seven of Nine is/was? one fine woman, IMO.

A little something different: Moe's Confetti in a Wally Frank diamond shanked pot, rather optimistically stamped "straight grain".
I don't mind M'sC, I'm still debating whether or not it's worth the considerable upcharge compared to plain old Sir Walter Raleigh.

I don't mind M'sC, I'm still debating whether or not it's worth the considerable upcharge compared to plain old Sir Walter Raleigh. I talked myself into it: reloading with SWR, sipping coffee, listening to music, and working on last weekend's crossword. There's a reason why I don't do a lot of complaining...

I've loaded some C&D's Crooner once again into the Orange Nording Sailor. Late now, having had supper, chatted in the Briar Patch chat room, and read the depressing news. Doesn't anyone besides the astronomers finding 8 or so new earth like planets, have any good news? We missed Jeopardy, . Well the wife's fried chicken was quite good. The chat was active till about 11:30pm. Bowls of Natural Va and Burley, ODF and Crooner were smoked. The most notable was the bowl of ODF in my Tinsky, good tobacco in a great pipe. Smokingpipes.com had an interesting array of "Fresh" pipes. The majority of which beyond my budget till my next pay day, and many never to be affordable to me. The unaffordable pipes included many "Estate" pipes. Who was the marketing guru who came up with that term for "used" pipes. A used pipe has to be pretty special for me to consider it. I have no incentive to buy said pipes, because I can get brand new more affordable pipes. Brand names are meaningless too. I belong to no cadre of affluent pipe puffers other than on-line. No one to impress but myself. My neighbors wouldn't know the difference from between a Medico and say a Dunghill. Brands of pipes, many brands have little appeal for me. I do like Peterson pipes, the classic shapes. and bold shaping appeal to me. I do have some smaller less hefty Petes, like a calabash, and an Irish Made Army 160 fishtail. Mostly I go for the shape, size, color and style. All of which can change without notice. Mainly my pipes and the smoking of those pipes is about satisfying me, myself and I. I could go on more, but this is quite enough for now. Happy Puffing!
