Owners manual for my new Magnepan 3.7 speakers I came so close to buying Maggies. I bought Klipsch LaScallas instead. Kept them for 20 years and got some Accoustats. I should have bought the Maggies to begin with.

The Serpent and the Rainbow: A Harvard Scientist's Astonishing Journey into the Secret Societies of Hatian Voodoo, Zombis, and Magic by Wade Davis is the current book.
It's received a lot of negative feedback from other scientists, but the book itself is interesting.
Cheers, JD

Is it an immersion story? Like Carlos Castaneda and the Yaqui way of Knowledge? Finished a reread of Leon Uris Topaz last night caught a lot of crossover from Eisenhower The War Years, both dealt with French politics in WWII to a degree.

Interesting movie, but I'm betting the book beats it by a country mile.

Just finished "Blow the Bloody Doors Off" by Michael Caine. Excellent read, even if you don't care for film acting technique. He deftly relates his success to any other endeavor in life.

I just finished a 4 book sword and sorcerer series. Can't decide which book to start next. It's going to be a Dresden Files or a Jack Reacher. Maybe. Or a CJ Box. So many books.....

Actually I think I am going to re-read God's Psychiatry by Dr Charles L. Allen. I have an autographed copy directly from his hand, but I bought the Kindle version. I have been having anxiety issues lately and I need a reminder about peace.

Black Robe, about Jesuits encountering Huron Indians for the first time. Great read.
I will watch the movie after I finish the book.

Re-reading Richard Brautigan's "Trout Fishing in America". It's an odd holiday thing with me and my daughter, Noel, who will be here on Sunday to spend the holidays.

I never read the book, Topaz, but remember Hitchcock's movie which was good. I will have to find the novel. Casteneda had quite an imagination.

Read everything he ever wrote up to his death. I enjoyed thinking about it, but eventually came to the conclusion that he was full of s***.

Twice adopted by Michael Reagan... a good read. Ironic that he shares no blood with his father, but is so much like him, Ron jr. shares Dad’s DNA and rejects pretty much everything Dad believed in.

Right now I am going back and forth between "Can Man Live Without God" by Ravi Zaccharias & Coulomb explosion imaging of bound and dissociating nuclear wave packets in strong-field ionized iodomethane Later "The Tales of Captain Black; the Grapes of Wrath" by Sir Captain Black I'm a great admirer of Ravi Zaccarias, and have a number of his books. The little volume titled "The Lotus and the Cross" was life-changing for me.

I'm back on the Terry Pratchett...Thud this time “Thud” is a good one. Currently on “Raising Steam” and it’s more preachy and less funny than all of the other Discworld books I’ve read. Think he changed a bit at the end there.

I always have a few going but enjoying “The Benedict Option” right now.
I’d recommend it even for the first two chapters alone as it really nails where we are as a culture in the West - good for those of faith and those who aren’t.

Almost done with Robert Jordan's 6th book in his Wheel of Time series: "Lord of Chaos". The story has picked up a bit towards the end.

Starting on Vol. 2 of the Allen Quatermain Complete Adventures. I finally got my hands on the six others in the set. Girlfriend got me all seven of the Louis L'Amour collected short stories to start on when finished with my time in Africa.
