keeping it simple. Finishing the huge newspapers before early afternoon feed. Should be fairly quick as probably 80% advertising flyers. Cutting coupons...dat to be wife's "chore" as I'll be going thru some usual season catalogues from companies have never heard of. Being born learning disabled, most "classic" lit not in the mix

Now reading Dawnshard: From the Stormlight Archive. Book 3.5 in the Stormlight series by Brandon Sanderson. Good choice! I'll be reading it in a week or so. Then on to Rythm of War right around Christmas.

Then I saw a woman knock $100.00 off her bill and I became a believer. The App that our supermarket uses, is pretty cool, you just preload the ones you want and takes it off at the register when you punch in your phone number. Another nifty feature is that it has a directory to tell you where the hard to find items like capers are.

I read it before SA series and was pleasantly surprised at the tie-in near the end of Words of Radiance.

I'm on book 5 of the Lost Starship Series by Vaughn Heppner - The Lost Patrol. Good, not great, but I'm hooked on the story now. Got to see where it goes. Unfortunately there are 12 books and probably still going.

Pretty good series.

GETTYSBURG by Noah Andre Trudeau. An almost minute-by-minute detailed account of the battle, its background and aftermath. Harrowing. The research done by the author is enormously impressive. I would put this on a must-read list for students of the War as well as military history readers in general. I’m a little better than half way through it now, the night of the second day. The book really brings home how brutal the War was. The author is doing a fine job of making the reader feel that he is there and can see both the horror and the courage of brave men on both sides.

I read A Stillness at Appomattox a few years ago, and the brutally was shocking. I just finished Warlord, the final book in Bernard Cornwells series The Lords of the North. It too ended with a violent battle, but somehow less shocking than the Civil War books. I will miss Uhtred of Bebbenburg as an old friend.

I also enjoyed his Warlord Chronicles and Sharpe... classics!

Yes... love Sharpe but how’s he going to continue? His last novel had Sharpe and Harper meeting Napoleon in Elbe. The last movie/tv episode had Sharpe at Waterloo. Hmmm....
