Last Fall there was a rumor going around that Warrior and Mick McQuaid plugs were going to be discontinued. I did a bit of a panic buy for myself and a couple of other members here. I have not heard anything since then and James Fox in Dublin knew nothing about the rumors. I enjoy the prep work and especially the rewarding smoke that these plugs give me. I've also been smoking Peterson Perfect Plug on a regular basis since it is more readily available here and less expensive. I'm also anxiously awaiting War Horse Plug to be released. Anyway, here's the haul from James Fox.

Same here, Brad. I had an order placed, saw a bunch of other orders coming in, but never heard a peep about mine. I just wrote it off.

I have a handful of Warrior and Mick McQuaid. I intend to try 3 P's at some point as John has said it's pretty damn good. If that can satisfy my plug fix when I need it, I'll write the others off. Too much of a pain to get and not cheap.

Wow, you sure do! Do you keep them in their original packaging?

Simon told me he got dinged on the last blockade run, so no more Condor/etc pipeline there. Papi - I assume that fine pic there of the plug goodies included my stash?

Yes, Les, that's the load that included your goodies. I feel another order coming on sometime in April or May. I'll let you know in case you want anything.

Yes, phono, but I put them in Mason jars. Gotcha, that makes sense.

As a raging 3P fan, I highly recommend trying it. I don't think it's as hardcore as some would suggest, in the Vitamin N department. More just a good mellow medium-to-strong smoke that can last for hours.

I need to get more plugs its just my credit card keeps getting bounced by the bank when I try to order from James Fox. I find myself rationing my plugs because of that. At least with plugs I find they tend to smoke longer then flakes or ribbon.

Plugs seem to smoke longest for me; makes sense, as they are the densest.

I'm smoking 3P now as a matter of fact. Less expensive and more readily available here; but I'll never not have the above on hand.

Plugs are great and they seem to preserve flavors that are disrupted after exposure to oxygen.
Samuel Gawith Cob Plug is one that I really enjoy as well as GLP Triple Play and JackKnife Plug.
I'm currently pressing some plugs myself with a 6-ton shop press and will post pics when complete.

Them European plugs are satisfying and delicious...but as Sparks said, they are not for the faint of wallet.

Surely there's someone in the pipe community with a yacht who makes frequent trips to the UK and could bring back a few hundred pounds for personal use.

My favorite are Mick McQuaid and Warrior Plug, however the cost of buying from across the pond, I have changed to Peterson 3Ps and G.L. Pease Triple Play. I had some FVF plug, but could not taste the difference from it to the flake version.

I just checked the prices at James Fox for the plugs and they have raised the price significantly. Over US$5.00/50 gram plug.

Finally tried JackKnife Plug and thoroughly enjoy it. Good to alternate with bowls of Old Joe Krantz.

I need to revisit Triple Play and Jack Knife. It's been a few years since I've tried them.

I want to try Salty Dogs but it's been sold out here forever and I don't feel like jumping through hoops to get it from Europe.
