I smoked a lot of Captain Black when I ran out of B&M blends. Too pricey compared to other choices now. I was recently in the Black Hills of South Dakota with my family for vacation. I picked up a pouch of SWR for around $4.50. here in MN it runs about $8 a pouch. a tub of Captain Black here is $75-$80. I get most everything on-line now.

Viprati in the Lorenzo Atlante Chianti 513 bent sitter with a glass of ice tea.
I'm really starting to like this pipe the more I smoke it.

Now smoking D&R Don Giovanni Sigaretta in a medium bend smooth paneled 2017 Turkish Meerschaum with a gold and black swirl acrylic stem. Jim, You smoke a lot of D&R, and my guess is it isn't because of price. The price is great, but I am not sure from the descriptions what I am getting. It's fairly obvious I like aros, though I smoke English as well. Can you give me a few hints of what they have to try? I can search all reviews, but I stand as good of a chance of missing something as seeing it. Also, is this stuff cut for cigs or something? Some of them do double duty as RYO (e.g. Three Sails, Two Timer, Winter Gold), but many are solely for pipe tobacco, and all do well in a pipe. They only have one English blend, which is English Hoopla. I've reviewed most of them, and the ones I am currently reviewing will be posted here in a long thread as a guide once they are done. I'm reviewing the entire line. I'm not familiar enough with your tastes yet to guide you. But, if you want to phone chat about it, I think I can better help you out. PM me your number if you're interested. Almost half way through this bowl of Sam Gawith Medium Virginia Flake in a straight smooth patent era 1952 Dunhill Bruyere ODA apple 806 B124 with a black vulcanite stem.

Enjoying some PS LTF in my Savinelli Root Briar Straight Bulldog. This was an antique store find and has turned into a great smoking pipe. Outperforms some of my expensive pipes.

The sun has almost risen and I'm reading today's paper, enjoying a bowl of Mac Baren's Black Ambrosia in a rusticated Lorenzo Spitfire. They get more action than the Savinellis these days... guess I really like these pipes.

Firstly, I want to say quicklime , WELCOME MY BROTHER. But, since you are so "quick", what the hell took you so long to get here!? Secondly, I am smoking some Watch City Slices in the Rattray's Triskele 14 pipe with the last of the growler of Block 15 Sticky Hands Southern Exposure Imperial IPA along side.

Cannon, Barnaby Jones, Columbo, McCloud, Ellery Queen, Mannix and the Rockford Files. Man, that was a THE era for police and detective shows. And Police Woman. Hubbah, hubbah.

My Chihuahua loves me she makes sure I get kisses at 4:30 every morning my normal wake up time. I think she just wants my feather pillows because as soon as I get up she promptly takes them over. Anyway might as well have a smoke and drink some coffee. GLP Embarcadero in Ben Wade traditional shape.

Good morning and happy Sunday. I'm starting my day with a bowl of John Cotton's Number 1 (the Russ incarnation) in a 1997 Savinelli rusticated rhodesian with a yellow band and vulcanite stem. My drink is black coffee.

Thanks to all you old friends for the welcome. Life just isn't the same without you all.
Went crawdad hunting yesterday with the wife and kids...we caught several dozen, several so big the claw meat was the size of an almond. Never found any so enormous before.
Old Joe Krantz in a Basil Meadows Dublin. Coffee.

Relaxing after a wonderful pot roast dinner with a bowl of D&R A.B. Rimboche in a smooth straight pre-transition Barling 313 T.V.F. EXEXEL pot with a black ebonite stem. Watching the Braves-Phillies game. I'm a bit confused with the Rimboche listings in tobaccoreviews. Two of them seem to have the same description but one is suffixed S.J. and the other A.B., iirc. What is the difference between the two Virginia and St. James Parish perique blends? I'm in the process of resuming my mini-binge with PS Luxury Bullseye Flake, out of the jar yesterday after eight years, in the Barling smooth dublin 5299 T.V.F., my first smoke this Sunday.

What is the difference between the two Virginia and St. James Parish perique blends? S.J. Rimboche is made with Saint James perique, and it is processed differently than the kind used in A.B. (which stands for Acadian Burley) Rimboche. S.J. is a little spicier and a little more raisiny than the A.B. which is a little more plum-like.
