I use vgy.me and it works great. I do everything from my phone, so to post pictures, I have to switch to desktop mode, post, and then switch back.

Is there no way to upload photos directly from your own computer?

Is there no way to upload photos directly from your own computer? No. The site is on a privately owned server and the expense for storage is something to be considered. Storing pictures on the server would greatly increase the amount of storage required thus increasing the expense to the site owner. By using a hosting site, the burden of storage is transferred to the picture hosting site and away from the forum. I hope that this makes sense.

OK, what am I doing wrong? I signed up for Amazon’s photo storage. Went to ‘add image’ on this site and dropped in the URL for the photo I wass trying to add. Nothing happens. No photo appears. Is there something else in the process I am not doing correctly?

Update: Signed up for PostImages. Went thru the precedure again. Got a message "The thread in which you are posting has no effects applied to it." Still no image appears. I'm stumped.

Just use Facebook to store your images. Mark them "private" so you will be the only person that can see them.
Easy enough to create an album just for pipe and tobacco pictures that you can cut and paste.
