Nose full of "campfire" all day today. It was nice going back to that after I put it down for a week.

Nose full of "campfire" all day today. It was nice going back to that after I put it down for a week. Glad you're diggin' it! My wife came home shortly after the last "cooking" session and was not overly pleased with the smell of the house. Apparently, Rootbeer and Barnyard don't make a nice combo for her! LOL

Rootbeer and barnyard huh? Sounds spectacular to me! Haha
I've been going thru all the different snuffs I ordered from mrsnuff, your campfire is still my favorite. Of all the ones I've sampled so far, Wilson's of Sharrow Irish No. 22 has been at the top. There's still A LOT to go.

I already have a cart started back up over there and I'll add that to it. Although I probably have enough snuff to last a life time, there is no such thing as too much.
Same for my pipe tobacco... and I just got more in the mail today.

Access to snuff is rather limited here. But I do take some Americans nasally - been sniffing Square Snuff for years. I know its not the best but it does the trick in a pinch, if you forgive the pun. Its rather difficult to sniff though - its SUPER fine and powdery, and only moderately moist. Most people dip it - but I do not - when I dip, I go for General. Im a huge believer General Snus Original Flavour, in general, if you will forgive another really awfully dry pun. Snus is not dry. Damn and just delicious. If you could put pipe tobacco into a little teabag and put it in your mouth, this stuff would be it. And that just sounds foul, if your mind is in the wrong place. Forgive me!

WoS - Jockey Club... first floral I've tried. Cant really decide if I truly like it or not. The scent last for a while, its pleasant, but I'm not sure if I want to smell flowers all day.

I've heard that one is pretty strongly scented but haven't tried it yet. When it comes to the floral and "SP" styles, I like the ones that are Bergamot / Rose based like Toque's Berwick Brown. Either way though ... you've got to be in the right mood for those flowery scents.

I wasn't in the right mood for it this morning. Didnt even know what it was to begin with. I was rushing to get ready for work so I just pulled the tape, opened it up and got a nose full. It wasn't bad, but wasn't what I really wanted at the time. But I got my fix and carried on.

Well I figured out which snuff was making my nose stop up...
Sadly, it is the Samuel Gawith Black Arabica. I put it down for a few days and used my others with no issues. A small pinch of the SG in each nostril this evening and 10 minutes later everything was clogged. Oh well, I have plenty of others waiting for me.

Recent news from Roderick of Toque Snuff: It's also "inside info" that Roderick is in contact with Jaap Bess ( Molens De Kralingse) and may be purchasing his recipes as well. Good news in an otherwise topsy-turvy tobacco world!

Darin What’s Barnyard? Is that a homemade ? As far as commercial snuff, I’m very disappointed. I’ve tried Kendal Brown Special, regular Brown and another SG mentholated. The Special is ok. The other two were very disappointing. My favorite is still your latakia one- I forgot the name ? I just finished a tin. I love it I snuff from early morning until bedtime.

My reference to Barnyard is that pungent fermented tobacco / ammonia smell ... present more in natural, unscented snuff. Glad you still love the Desert Campfire!

I still have a few pinches of the campfire. I love it.
I like "barnyard" snuff. Viking brown and Samuel Gawith Kendall Brown Original are normally in my pocket at work

One of my favorite things to do is mix a menthol 50/50 with a non-menthol. Just discovered Pöschl's Gletcherprise (menthol), with 6 Photo's Chocolicious (non) is sublime. It's hard to spoon out the clumpy Chocolicious with my Czech tool and get the right amount (not much), but it's 100° here in TX and humid as hell. That stuff is as fine as confectioner's sugar.

I have no idea why I never saw this thread here. I love snuff. Mainly tried Toque’s and WoS and McChrystal’s O&G. I love the Toque Whiskey & Honey, WoS SM Blue, McC O&G. Thinking about a larger Toque order.
Darin, are you selling yet? Website?

With you on the Whisky and Honey, it's one of my favorites. Still trying to figure out why I like snuff, but I think I've come up with something. Mom asked last time I was down what snuff did for me (she was expecting some drug type answer), and tomorrow I'm going to ask her, you know how you like scented candles and potpourri? What do they do for you? Well, snuff is the masculine equivalent of that - your own personal potpourri that doesn't annoy anyone else in the room.

Right now, I have small amounts of CloveMint, Desert Campfire, Savory and a new batch of Rootbeer (#2). Shoot me a PM if you're interested! So true! I was always that kid sniffing the candles and potpourri sticks. LOL

I just got a package today and I must say if there was only 1 snuff I could ever have for the rest of my life... I would choose Rootbeer #2.
My nose will never be the same. Haha

Today was the first day I didnt take a vial of Root Beer to work with me.
It was Friboug & Treyer Kendal Brown. It's nothing like the Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown at all. It's a fine powder and has a heavy incense/perfume scent. The scent last for quite a while too.

F&T makes some pretty fine grinds ... I like High Dry Toast and Old Paris from them. This morning, I started off the day with Old Mill Butternut Toast snuff with my coffee. Now, I'm hitting The Viking Thor's Hammer after lunch ... keeps pep in yer step! The next snuff project from me will be a coarse, moist Schmalzler. As my friend Mike would say ... Greasy Tobacco. LOL

Havent tried Thors Hammer yet. It was out when I made my last order. I was going to include it in my next one. With the amount I bought last time, I wont need to order more for YEARS.
