So i tried my hand at making some snuff. Not from whole leaf yet that wont be until next year but I had a few ounces of Bayou Morning go dry on me. The container I had it in wasn't as sealed as I thought and it got crispy crispy dry. I grinded it up real good and added a bit of salt then left a bit to the side to compare later. Then I mixed a bit of vanilla extract with distilled water and misted it over the flour in a pirex dish and toasted it in the oven as low as it would go. Let it set out for one day and then gave another pulse in the grinder to get a few clumps out. Just gave it a whirl and its not bad at all, though the vanilla didnt carry over as much as i wanted. Just a hint.

Congrats! The very first snuff I made was also from dried out pipe tobacco. The process can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be … just like cooking!
