You're a better man than I. I couldn't get through it. Well then I will not recommend Andrei Tarkovsky's films to you😁,though Tarkovsky's body of work is brilliant.

I watches Justice League: Dark last night. It's an animated flick about a supernatural plague that's beset the world.
The pacing of the movie was super weird, but it was an okay movie otherwise. The final boss fight was a bit anti-climactic.
2/5

Watched a film on Netflix called Polar. One of the stupidest action movies I've ever seen.

Watched last night: Run Silent, Run Deep with Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster. One of the best sub genre films. Twelve O'Clock High with Gregory Peck and Dean Jaegger, who smokes a pipe consistently throughout. Another sub film: The Enemy Below with Robert Mitchum. From the mid 70's and quite good.

Watched The Wife last night, Glen Close one fine actress, wanted to see what her award was all about. Behind every great man is a wife who makes him great. Good flick, hope she wins more awards. By the way I don’t watch any of the award shows.

I should've said 2.25, but that seems asinine.

Lone Wolf McQuade with Chuck Norris and David Carradine. What more can I say?! And ol'LQ Jones was in there smoking a pipe. In fact, my favorite actor in the whole movie was LQ Jones.

Aquaman, I'm not a superhero person but this was decent. I would say more geared to kids and teens but like I said I'm not a superhero person. It was however much better than the mule

"The Old Man and the Sea", 1958. Spencer Tracy. Reminded me of fishing outside the Golden Gate in an 18 foot motor boat pulling in smaller sharks. Fishing for Rock Cod but getting sharks. Good movie.

Hunter, Killer, Sub flick, great special effects, kind of far out, enjoyable but special forces overwhelm great odds which in my experience just ain’t so, and they never run out of bullets.

Sahara. 1943 Bogart in the desert, attached to British commandos. If that sounds familiar, its because this movie is the one others cribbed from. Good story line and plot development, ably directed by Zoltan Korda.

We watched "Io" on Netflix. We kept thinking it would get better, but it was 2 hours that we will never get back. 0/4.

Just finished dinner (Asian salad) and had my last bowl of the evening (GL Pease Six Pence) and getting ready to watch the last two episodes of True Detective, Season 3. Anticipation killing me.

We just watched "The Claw" on Svevghoolie. 1954. Much better than Io. The acting was infinitely better, and the special effects were hilarious. 6/10.

The Favourite (2019). It's really good, lots of dark humor and wonderful acting. It drags a little towards the end but the overarching theme of statescraft vs politics and love of other vs love of self is worked out wonderfully. Great costumes to boot.

Velvet Buzzsaw on Netflix 3.5/5
I was worried it would be a rehash of (Color Me Blood Red 1965) when I read the synopsis, but they had nothing in common. Weird, funny at times, creepy, visually striking, and a fun cast- Overall I thought it was a pretty good time. Maybe even worth a second viewing.
Not for you non-horror film types.

They Shall Not Grow Old, Peter Jackson's documentary on WW I. Using restored footage from the Imperial War Museum Jackson has created moving memorial to those that served in that bloody conflagration.

Logan's Run
Somehow missed this one til now. Fun dystopian future and rebirth on mankind's innocence type story. Just wanna say, this isn't a bad movie, but I think it's popularity had more to do with Jenny Agutter's outfit than the narrative. For me anyway Still a fun watch. I love old school special effects. I love seeing how creative people had to be back before computers made films on autopilot.
7/10 I You're A Sci Fi Geek. 5/10 If You're Normal. 9/10 If You've A Crush On Jenny Agutter

Men In War 1957 B/W - Robert Ryan, Aldo Ray, Vic Morrow - Director: Anthony Mann Tough and gritty for its time period. Had it a more creative name, might be better remembered. A battle within a battle as Ryan and Ray butt heads and deal with hostile North Koreans. Worth searching out and a credible comment on the Korean War.

Anything with Robert Ryan will be interesting.
