Original Bell's Three Nuns. Have only heard good reports My all time favorite tobacco. Savinelli Doblone d'Oro is the closest thing made today that resembles it.

Walnut, Barking Dog or any of the Old Burley non aromatics. At least you can try Chestnut, which is virtually identical to Walnut. Match Barking Dog is almost the same as the original, only a little better.

Jim, you know the story of my antique store find. Was very tempted to pop that tin of Balkan Sobranie. So, that would be my pick!

Match Barking Dog is almost the same as the original, only a little better. I have several tubs of Walnut that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon before they discontinued it. I can say with total confidence that Chestnut is a superior blend, at least compared to the most recent incarnations of Walnut.

Probably the original Balkan Sobraine, or maybe an original Dunhill London Mixture when it was actually made by Dunhill. Or the original McConnell's Oriental when it was made in London.

I have a few unopened tubs of Pinkerton era Half & Half if that's on anyone's list. You have to take the whole tub though.

I've been thinking abut this all day and I got nothin'. I smoked most of the classic blends over the past 47 years. Time for the tin foil cap.

With all the hoopla about it, another vote for Bell's Three Nuns. Had a chance at a tin in Chicago but if I recall a very expensive tin that I passed on and went back later in the day to get once the pipe I was after was not at the show (the Savinelli Punto Oro Natural Smooth 321 that I ended up getting a few months after the show which turned out to be the first one made available for purchase in the USA for certain, and according to Laudisi possibly the world), and it was gone.

My main thought was Bond Street. I got that from Pipestud and am happy. Hickory and Sugar Barrel are next, but the matches work until I can afford more vintage. The joy is they are all in the realm of possible thanks to the Net

He said one VINTAGE blend, didn't say Discontinued Vintage Blend. I've had the new stuff and would like to have had the Original way back when.

Only because it's what my grandfather smoked, I would like to try George Washington. I tried it, and thought it was pretty decent. Wouldn't mind smoking it again. Anyway, Pipestud has a tub for sale if you're interested: pipestud.com/famous-old-drugstore-tins/

Walnut, Barking Dog or any of the Old Burley non aromatics. Walnut and Barking Dog were both aromatics, but I mostly smoked the match blends. I do really like the Barking Dog Match from Sutliff, and to mention it, really like the Walnut match as well. If you haven't tried them, you really should get an ounce of each. I was sad when Sutliff stopped tinning the Barking Dog match. They used to sell it in the Private Stock series as Man's Best Friend. Now it seems you can only buy it bulk as Barking Dog Match, only on P&C, and I will no longer order anything from P&C. Here's hoping SP gets that blend in bulk soon. I've been out for about 3.5 years.

Some Edgewood in the little pocket sized tin. My father must have smoked a boatload of this stuff based of all the tins I found after he died. They were full of bolts, taps, dies etc.

Wow this is a very tough question. There are hundreds of them.
Most wanted would probably be...
Gallaher's War Horse Plug Original Dunhill's London Mixture made by Dunhill, from the first couple years. Add to that the Baby's Bottom and original My Mixture blends. 1930s-40's Three Nuns and Capstan Blue Flake TONS of the English plug and flake tobaccos gone from the SG and GH & Co. houses. SG Bracken Flake Original Edward G Robinson blend from the very first release. Original Sutliff Mixture 79 ( So I can finally lay to rest the big dispute on how different it is these last few years) Edgeworth Slices Original Bengal Slices
Literally hundreds more, especially looking at old discontinued Rattray's/Dunhill/and British catalogues. Hundreds more.
