My biggest gripe is that I didn’t get here sooner. I'll second that comment. I had stopped posting on other forums, as it just wasn't worth the trouble or attitudes. Paddy, you are a gem and I mean that in all seriousness. Definitely a welcome addition. I hope to be as well received as you are. I some times revive old threads because I enjoy looking back through all 34 pages (what happened to before that time?) and seeing things that I have questions about or feel like it is appropriate to bring back to life. I don't really call it necro-posting, but I guess it is.

Many forums lock threads that are so many months old without activity. One reason (from an example I remember) is that someone would come along and repost all the old threads so everything on the front page had his name. And when people logged in they had no clue where the recent posts went. I have no ante in this pot, so however it is run is Jake with me. For Legend Lover to at least acknowledge posts may be the only way a recent thread gets a chance on top again. LL is hands on here and that is nice. That he is an extremely nice person helps. I disagree about subjects that have been posted before being posted again. Things change. Members change. I would rather have them re-asked than not. I disagree with the original premise for this thread. Most likely meant to dig at someone. In at least one of the forums I ran I was a total dickhead, so with those we have here I am thrilled. I never get the thought that I could do it better. I couldn't. That goes a dozen times for Paddy. He has no poisonous views on one pipe or tobacco over another. He also takes a huge amount of teasing. This all works for me

I remember joining a forum a few years back and I was reading a number of older posts concerning blasting and rusticated briar. I was making a few pipes and had some serious questions. Well let me tell you...I was immediately jumped on for bringing back old posts and was also sent a few nasty PM’s. I had legitimate questions, did nothing wrong...I figured out quickly what the problem was....I was new and DID NOT fit into there clique. I rarely posted within that forum after that incident!!
