I went to a restaurant/bar. I had a 1/2 lb cheeseburger with chedder and bacon, and roasted new potatoes with chedder and crumbled bacon, and for dessert I had an Old Grand Dad old fashioned, double bitters.
Now smoking Billy Budd Blonde in a Sav 320EX.
Its comfort all the way.

Friday we went to Sylvia Mae's Soul Food in Jacksonville Texas. I had smothered pork chops, macaroni and cheese, butter beans, and fried cornbread. My wife had oxtails with rice, candied yams, fried cabbage and mustard greens. She had bread pudding and I had peach cobbler. I was GOOD!

It's a great place. We and another couple were the only ones there because we were after the lunch crunch. We were going to eat there Saturday too but she was booked solid. It's just a little shack with a couple of window AC units and a dirt parking lot. She was featured on a local TV show, "Texas Country Reporter" and she has all the business she can handle. We drove 171 miles and the other couple drove over 200. Sylvia Mae is also the sweetest person you would ever meet.

The place must be good. That's a lot of miles to travel for food, Ronv69.

The Gold Wing club regularly rides 200 miles for a meal, but that's not for the food, usually. There's a few places that are worth it. I would drive 200 miles to eat at Eagan's in Waterford. That's only 225 miles for Legend Lover. 😈 Of course he probably has great seafood closer than that.

For supper: Prosciutto, fresh mozz, roasted peppers, fresh basil, and balsamic on ciabatta. Great sandwich.

There are also a few places in Bangor too... Both about a 40 min drive from me. I would never think of driving 200 miles for food... Ever.

Your entire population is less than my city. The entire pot of the island is less than my county. It's 55 miles to my best friends place on the far side of town. And we Americans just need to have the occasional road trip. Google said it would be 154 miles one way, but with a couple of detours, it turned out to be about 400 miles round trip.

Thanks much antb, With my stomach still sensitive I’m heading out to Hardee’s for a plain biscuit and ☕️ coffee ☕️. Better days are ahead, so I’ve been told.

Wife made a veggie curry. For a veggie curry it was pretty great. I would have preferred some meat in it though.
