Take a look at the Peanut Principal Gourmet peanut butters on Amazon. A bit pricy, but if you enjoy a great peanut butter itโs definitely worth the money. If Skippy brand is on sale Iโll purchase a jar and add some fresh local honey to eat on crackers or on bread without jam/preserves.
Yup, Iโm totally NUTS when it comes to a great peanut butter ๐๐๐๐๐
Skippy is nothing more than peanut flavored margarine. An insult to peanut growers everywhere. However, as a loyal American, I defend your right to enjoy it.

There is a Carl'S Jr over the border in Walsenburg about 70 miles from here. Walsenburg is on the road to Pueblo where the nearest Home Depot can be found. I used to stop there. IMHO, Carl's is superior to other Hamburger franchise joints. Sadly, Carl's is not in New Mexico, nor is In-and-Out Burger. Instead, we are stuck with Blake's "Lotta Burger", a sad excuse for a hockey puck gone to the wrong goal.
I actually drove past 4 Carl's Jr's yesterday. They seem to be popular.
You might want to stop in one. They used to be quite good. Then again, it is the way the individual store operates which counts and that can vary.

I agree, only purchase when on sale and needs to be doctored-up!! Peter Pan or Jiffy is NOT what it use to be 30 years ago. The local supermarkets do not sell a good peanut butter or a decent orange marmalade. My idea of a good marmalade is not Smuckerโs!!
The so called better home made style style peanut butters sold locally are NOT good at all, they separate in the jar fast and looks disgusting. One has to constantly mix the darn stuff up every time before making a sandwich....ainโt happening.

What I do is open the jar and pour off the peanut oil on top for future use in frying. The remaining butter contains enough oil for spreading, at least the way I do it. More like "trowling" mortar than spreading butter. If the remaining butter becomes too dry I can add a little of the reserved peanut oil.

Just finished a frozen burrito, but now I have a sudden craving for a PBJ sandwich.
Which brand of frozen burrito? I am partial to Ole' Jose. There certainly are a number of good brands. A frozen burrito is handy for most emergencies. Before the days of microwave ovens and when frozen burritos were not as common, I wrapped them in foil and placed on the manifold of the truck when leaving the house. Lunch would be ready shortly. I thought about some kind of small iron box on the manifold to accommodate that. Trucks had more room in the engine bay back then.

Yup, Iโve done that....works well. The best peanut butter I ever had the pleasure of enjoying was the local homemade oneโs made in Georgia....the peanut capital of the world. In Georgia I enjoyed chestnut and pecan butter.....delicious ๐๐
Trader Joeโs sells a decent Sunflower butter๐๐๐

Well, it's actually a Josรฉ Ole beef, bean and cheese chimichanga. They do seem to be better than average. And I just finished a peanut butter and pineapple preserves sandwich. And another cup of coffee.

Did you hear about the 2 Spanish firemen? Josรฉ and hose-b
What did the Spanish farmer say to the chicken? Olรฉ

I'm here all night.
There was a woman who used to visit the Laurel Canyon Dog Park. She had two littermate dogs named "Hose-A" and "Hose-B".
That is just the way she was. She was a comic appearing in small rooms in Vegas. She never made the Big Shows.
Thought you might want to know while there is still time.

Getting ready to toast/nuke a couple of White Castle cheeseburgers...found in the freezer section of Walmart. Surprizingly enough, these are really good and taste like the old time White Castle and Royal Castle burgers from back in the 60's-80's in south Florida.
